just adding (no pun intended) this is why i hate pemdas, pedmas, bodmas, and whatever else people use as a crutch

By using the "I don't give a sh`it" formula, and put all the numbers in a jar pulling them out 1 by 1, I come up with;

1622 and an ace of spade

I don't use it as a crutch, I'm forced to use it or else I get peached at in school math classes for not doing it right.

Not my fault using it is second nature for me now.

Lol, PEMDAS doesn't necessarily screw you up. Just remember that addition/subtraction and multiplication/division are somewhat like equals, and work left to right O.o

some people learn PEMDAS as "MULTIPLICATION, THEN DIVISION, PERIOD." which is plain wrong.

does your school make you do that too?

is it (6/2)*(1+2) or is it 6/(2(1+2))? Skipping parentheses makes this hard

So it's the prior. This is why notation is important cause math like that is fricken ambiguous as all hell. PEMDAS does technically work though.

order of operations people, not that hard. Do work inside the parentheses then work your way out from there

To an extent, yes. I got [HIDE-REPLY]6/2 (1+2) = 6/2(3) = 6/6 = 1[/HIDE-REPLY]
