Managed to use all seven wheels with minions at ~5% hp, waste 3 easter egg buffs, two 7k HP pots, and a resistance pot.

So it took me more than a year from the time Mercedes was release to yesterday for me to reach lv120.
Such a major achievement i made lol

Horntail card got! Now All I need are Van Leon, Pink Bean, and the Stronghold bosses.

I don't think I'll ever get a Katana. I guess I'd better wait for the shoulder pad to be released to get a 6/7 set bonus. That 5% critical rate from my Hayato hat will be sorely missed.

An achievement for a weak character. Oh well, I should try to achieve this on my own (as in without buffs from other classes).

After 7 years and 3 months of playing, I finally got my 1st character to lv 200 as of 1:00 PM PST today. Even though I used lots and lots of red leaf high keys, it's still an achievement for me.

Phantoms can solo Empress easy with the card KB glitch. I'm pretty sure that for the most part of that duo it was just the Phantom doing all the work as getting too close to Cygnus would cause her to aggro on to you. Mercedes have a difficult time just getting past the minions.

Phantoms can solo, yes, but duoing sounds way more feasible to the not-as-informed-player.

The only time Carlos was attacking and I wasn't was right after we buffed - otherwise I was attacking nonstop with him. Geting too close to Cygnus does not cause aggro on me. I can attack on top of Empress (taking touch damage) without causing aggro to mess up.
Mercedes' don't have a difficult time getting past the minions if you are halfway competent (which is a stretch nowadays for a lot of people).

On a side not, I am astonished at the amount of threads (basil) asking for tips on "how to PB/cyg as a phantom/mercedes" when there are SO MANY guides/threads/videos that explain every aspect in detail and would take one google search to find.

Also, CrazyForDex was talking about my post where I was unlucky with respawns/seal/stun and died seven times. Not me duoing with Carlos.

So the KB glitch had nothing to do with it? A solo is much easier from my experience. Having other players try to assist takes away from Carte Noir's knockback glitch. Again, this is from personal experience.

Were you using the knockback lock or just attacking during animations and crash? I didn't think it was possible for two people to do enough damage to her with the DR spam. If you were KB locking, were you attacking while Carlos was using Mille?

In any case I've looked for guides/explanations on how to Empress and really didn't find very much. The only "guide" on basil is junk and really only gives a few helpful things like Oz glitch and some basic timings. I was better off looking up info on MapleArchive for the most part.

Try using videos of solos/duos on YouTube. Incredibly helpful and packed with tips if you know how to look for them.

-shrug- all I'm saying is that the KB locking provided by the Phantom's Carte Noir is what made the duo, which is pretty much still a solo since it wouldn't be possible with a combination of any classes without a Phantom in the mix at our current GMS standards. Plus its really easy to attack from far away since Ishtar has some good range on it. I'm only saying this because that's how I get a solo done. Capped Mille doesn't cause KB; Carte Noir does however.

I'm just trying to see if you guys used the KB lock on it or not really, that's what I've been asking since my first response to the duo. Like I'd really love to see a video of this because I know tons of people who have been trying to do duos and solo outside of the Phantom class or Phantoms who can't cap on Mille and would probably benefit from the information you can provide.

Yes. It was used.
You did not ask if it was used in your first post, you said phantoms can solo easily and that I was a nuisance that made "soloing" more difficult.
