As pointed out, I included the dot. And lightning spear is pathetic considering its speed and cooldown, since other people can just cast their hyper-ulti and carry on with their normal dps skill while I/Ls are stuck standing there for 8 seconds to do the same thing. Maybe if they made it work like AB's hyper skill (cast it and it will continue hitting while allowing you to cast other skills) then it would be worth a damn. Otherwise you're probably better off spamming chain lightning for dps at a boss.

Chain lightning can't do more than 10 million per cast/second. No ice lightning skill can. Therefore lightning spear is better if you average more than 7m damage with it.

Of course I'm discounting the fact that both IL and FP attacks have a cap of 10 mil. In hitting the cap:
MF: 60-120 mil damage every 90 seconds, and let's assume DoT hits about 1 mil each tick (may or may not be accurate or realistic), for 30 mil damage. That's a total of 90-150 million damage.
LS: 90 mil damage every 90 seconds.
Meh, calculated it wrong before editing. FP would win here, easily. I might have undervalued the DoT also by a lot.

Those numbers just seem inaccurate, unless MF does hit more than once under normal circumstances. I'm not too sure what "proc" is, so I could be completely wrong on this one.
I don't think it's the DoT that's crit-ting (Fire Aura has no DoT, afaict - and DoT cannot crit anyway)). I think he can attack from a rope as long as the monsters are in range.

It doesn't say you cant use other skills so it is pretty safe to assume you can. also dark aura could also hurt things on a rope and so can dark meta

Meh, calculated it wrong before editing. FP would win here, easily. I might have undervalued the DoT also by a lot. I'm not sure how you're counting this, but based on your calculations for I/L's LS:
90mil dmg/90 secs
-> 90mil = 6600% (700%*8 + 1000%)
-> 700% = 9.54~mil
-> Here's the funny part, 9.54~mil per 700% means that the last hit (1000%) only does 0.459999mil more damage than the first 8 hits, so the actual calculation would probably be something like 9,999,999 (cap) per hit. (so the last hit's additional 300% becomes pointless in this case)
Using that on F/P's MF
-> 700%*6 = 9,999,999*6 or 59,999,994 (initial hit)
-> 700%*30 = 9,999,999*30 or 299,999,970 (dot)
-> 57.24+286.2 = 359999964 (total)
-> each time the 20% proc works, you will deal an additional 59,999,994 damage (bringing it it 419,999,958 damage)
Yea, your calculations are off by around 6 times. The results wont be drastically different even if you say that both cases assuming 100% crit on all hits, because that's not a feasible comparison, considering both classes' crit rates.

edit: who knows? There was no restriction listed on Max's blog, only Bishop's toggle skill has that. Also, it would make the toggle completely pointless to use if you can't cast anything, since it would be like some slightly more powerful version of teleport mastery spam. As it stands, its something like Demon Slayer's Metamorphosis, although much more powerful but also slower.

Is the Paladin's Smite affected by the 1 min cooldown effect like with Magic Crash and Binding Darkness?
Looks like Snipe/Brain Scrambler bypassing DR and SDef might be a possibility for a passive Hyper Skill? Maybe? =D

Raw damage doesn't mean pomegranate anymore, it's all about Hits Per Second :/

And didn't someone mention that DoTs do not have caps? meaning that your "x amount of 999,999 per sec" ratio has even more potential to grow, so the raw damage DOES matter in this case.
Now add fire aura into the equation (66*3,000,000 or 198*999,999 per 90 seconds) then you're looking at an increase of 558*999,999 hits per 90 seconds for F/Ps, not even counting the addtional hit you can get for paralyze, or the 20% DoT damage increase for both paralyze AND poison mist (once again assuming DoTs do not have caps). F/Ps undoubtedly got the biggest boost in DPS amongst the adventurer warrior/mages thus far.

Plus we still don't fully know how these skills work. We've only just tipped the iceberg.

Funny thing is, while the available kaiser empress solo is clocked at 52mins, his hits are practically all capped so there isnt much room for improvement. The angelic burster empress solo, also clocked at 52mins, shows that her hits are not even capped yet, so with improved gear you'd be looking at something close to a 40mins solo.
Unless they change the regular cap soon, even the superior hits/sec kaiser wouldn't be able to keep up with AB.

Empress can only be killed Sub 10 minutes on the clock.

Lightning Sphere makes me think of that nasty-looking AoE indicator Dark Flare has. The Ice Aura animation also has nothing on the Fire Aura animation. Reserving further judgement on skill function until clearer information is available.
