Guild Wars 2
I'm about to hit 50 on my Guardian and had a ton of fun about two hours ago when me and Max had a surprise visit by the Shatterer, our first big dragon fight. Went pretty smoothly and was fantastic. Got a gold medal, but my treasure/rewards were mediocre at best.

We accepted the guild invite, and I was wondering, do we have an official guild emblem yet? I would enjoy wearing armor with our emblem engraved.

I made another Thief last night, too. During beta weekend #2, I tried it, and I didn't like it, but I didn't really give it the benefit of the doubt (hell, I didn't even play it past level 5, where you can start weapon swapping and building skills). Now that I'm giving it another shot, I'm really enjoying it. Just might end up being my second alt.

Oh crap, so that's how you add the guild emblem (I Googled it just now). I was spending all of our Influence towards a guild bank LOL.

Well since we barely have enough Influence to get a Guild Emblem, we mind as well get one. Since you pointed this out, I'll give you the honor of picking our design (choose a background and an emblem).

Pick one before the couple of days the upgrades finish (as soon as I log on, that might take a while). That should be enough time Rolleyes (I might reject your design if it's lousy though xD).

We'd have to grind out the Influence a bit longer to unlock the Engraving on our armor, but still, it's only 500 Influence. Easily manageable. Will delay our Guild Bank longer though Q_Q.

raizoo Wrote:fyi it costs 1g to have one armour/weapon engraved and up to 5g to get a backpack with guild emblem. The small corridors are also bad for another reason. Some of our cameras would get stuck and we'd die not being able to see anything. The camera issues with GW2 seem to change every patch, for better or for worse.

I don't know why a camera is so hard to do properly. GW2's definitely needs some work, it can drive you insane.

I haven't done Manor yet. Maybe next weekend, dungeons are far too long to be bothering with them on my nights before work.

Nette or however you spell his name: Yeah, boulders would have worked...if I weren't alone and the time it takes to pick one up wouldn't have raped me. I had his pimento pet on me too, and purely the regeneration and Geyser combined kept me alive.

King: He really just pulls you towards him a lot. That's about it. But if you get Interrupted or something for some reason at the same time he casts Foefire, or you're just then casting a spell like Meteor Shower, you can get caught in it, and it does like 1,500 damage a hit (at least to me), so two hits is death.

Speaking of Meteor Shower, side note: I love how you don't have to complete casting it to get its effect. It's more intense if you cast it fully, however if you need to cancel it part-way into the casting, you get like a half Meteor Shower. I find that absolutely amazing.

raizoo Wrote:Hmm, other people are saying you can get a lot of gold and karma if you know what to do.... Unable to look into this because busy and queue times. ;-;

I think it depends almost utterly and completely on if you're winning, and if you have a lot of places to defend. You get NO events unless you are officially taking over a building, or being attacked. When I did WvW, our server was losing horribly on whatever Battlegrounds I went to. As a result for the first hour it was just dying. Even after our team got coordinated it wasn't much better, and the people who were "Commanders" completely turned me off of the entire system with their elitist attitude. I offered a suggestion on what to do, and I basically got flamed for 15 minutes by the Commander and his friends. Completely uncalled for. That's one of the reasons I hate PvP, because I hate most people (surprisingly, I don't show that much on these forums).

By playing a lot, of course. I don't think there's really a way to power level in GW2. You can buy the XP boosters and play constantly instead of taking time to explore the world, but you're still going to get most of your XP from events rather than clearing mobs. I've got 35 hours played and I'm at level 34 (type /age). Apparently there's a lot people that don't have jobs that play 10 hours a day and hit level 80 less than a week after the game came out.

I'm in the friggin military attending one of the hardest schools you can go to, and my free time is probably less than most of the people who post here on SP, but I still managed to get to 80 at a decent rate while throwing in some goofing around and PvP. You just have to go around the map in an efficient way.

How many hours have you played?

80 since the 3 day release

That's 80 hours in 16 days (5 hours a day). At approximately 1 level an hour, which is about the same as I'm getting. I'm not judging you, I'm just saying the reality is that the reason you're level 80 is because you've played a lot more than me, or Raph589, or the other people who aren't even close to 80.

Are you trying to imply that he's cheating?

Warriors get Signet skills for every single skill tree, including Healing. It's possible to have 5 Passive Signets on at once. My Warrior is Level 19, and all three of my skill slots are currently Signet skills, so I have 3 Passive Signet effects on at a time.

No, why do warriors go 5 signets. It's so stupid.

Oh. It's actually like 7, but you can only equip 5 at once.

Also the Healing Signet is absolutely 100% broken as hell, I expect a nerf at least for that in the near future. At Lv.6 I was surviving Lv.10+ mobs by myself, in groups, purely because the Healing Signet's regeneration is insane. I get like 50+ HP every second, at that level.

Live Action commercials for games are always the worst pomegranate ever. No exception here.

I've never seen that one.

Funny thing is that right after I posted that, I saw an AWFUL Borderlands 2 Live Action commercial. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzlhAObKwE4

I honestly didn't think it was terrible. A bit campy, yes, but the idea is the convey that it's a huge world to explore and fight for together with your friends. It's targeted at the mainstream audience that has no idea the game exists, not the gamers who already bought the game.

It's a lot better than those WoW commercials (Chuck Norris jokes in 2012, *groan*).

Another thing is that warriors don't really get any PvE friendly slot skills. 95% of the time I'm just better off with the 5 signet's passives.
A lot of their skills are a lot better in PVP, i don't use any signets while pvping.

And also, it depends what type of warrior you build towards, tankier ones could use the shouts + the 30 tactics shouts healing trait. But then again it just depends what they're going for in the end.
