Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread
[spoiler=My first run in with Sewer Princess Faris. Died once. This was the aftermath. I hit her from range, I get inexplicably blinded and take random damage. I try to juggle her, I miss and am combo'd for 600 damage or so between 30+ hits. Then she spams items at me up against a wall for about 10 seconds. Holy. Hell. The scream plant? Apparently she did that somehow too.][Image: 2a4tsau.jpg][/spoiler]
Congrats, but how the hell did you do it? On King's, no less. Are you able to hold her off? I have nothing that can keep her at bay.
Is it just me, or is cloth armor by far the most common kind of armor to get greens/purples of?

Steyr (fast, powerful, and has good knockback) , Fire Pillar (you've seen the stopping power it has), and BBQ were pretty useful here. Managed to get a few Laser Rifle hits in as well (some charged, some not). Stinger helped a lot in launching her. I think now that I know what to expect I can take her without dying, I didn't even notice her when I ran in. Then I had to deal with the mobs while analyzing her. She spams her items only on the x axis, and runs right behind them. Get underneath or above her when she does. For a Witch, obviously EMM while there are still mobs, Acid rain and run in circles (cheap tactic, but it works), Panzor sniping (if you have him). High enough level Shururu/Jackyl is supposed to aggro bosses, not sure if that's achievable here. Honestly, if you can't get her in the air, you're going to have problems as a witch. I'd suggest Lava+Acid and running in circles, but that's boring, and you don't have Lava anyway. No idea what you're supposed to do without the drill (your best 1v1 move).
You need a pretty high level (10 for champion and 15 for bosses, I think) Shururu to lure special monsters, and I've heard it doesn't even work in our version yet. Unless Faris is considered the same as any other monster... I wonder if she wouldn't just rape Shururu silly anyway. Regardless, not an option for me. Same goes for Panzor, which I doubt any Witch would ever get.

Relying on zone damage from Rain or Lava and just staying away from her is a helluva lot easier said than done. To keep her in them, you have to stay around it, which means getting too close to her. She doesn't allow you any breathing room. If you do manage to keep her in them long enough, one go won't be near enough to kill her, which means you'd have to wait out the downtime and repeat. I can't run away from her because she always hunts me down and grabs with her spider web net from a huge distance. After that it's lights out. Honestly, I didn't even know she threw items because that's all she did to me. Chase. Spider grab. Massive, unbreakable combo. Dead.

I really think the only way to combat her would be with skills that are going to break through her no matter what and do massive damage in one go, like Drill. Otherwise I'd be relying on a sliver of luck. I probably should try her out again sometime, though. See if I can't find some ways to evade her. My first run-in with her left me so speechless I really don't know what happened.
I understand, and like I said, you're somewhat SOL until lv 45 here unless you can get her in the air to combo her. I really can't think of any way for you to get an edge on her other than luck with an EMM crit or party support. Maybe the Nais summon items from Thunderime? She can't throw them, and she does low enough damage that she won't kill them. Use them to zone her, then throw everything you have at her at once. Recover MP while the Nais cooldown is active, rinse, repeat. It's gonna be an extremely tough fight regardless. If you can dodge her net, though, it has a fairly noteworthy cooldown. She doesn't super armor much either, so if you can attack fast enough with MM and EMM you can keep her away. I'm not sure how well you can hit off screen, but you may need to snipe her and flee when she appears. At the very least you may be able to get some vertical height on her.

You can totally make it to Lv18 without even trying. I didn't even bother to get skills since I just killed everything terribly easy.
I need to play there :<
What's the ratio between def and damage taken? Like would it be better to go with more def or more hp?

I recall reading that 100 hp is equal to about 1000 defense.

Of course, if you can get the def, it's preferable, as it limits healing costs. On the same note, piercing damage ignores def, so you'll still need HP too. Sad
Some people in dfosource are really stupid :<
Anyone got lv25 purple light sabre? Started a BM and I'm loving it, but damage with non upgraded non purple sabre seriously sucks.

Edit: pomegranate meant to edit :<

Saber = fast attacks. Large swords = damage.
I know, I'm just saying I need a upgraded sabre lol.
Just bought a level 40 bowgun recipe...found out that I need to spend 1.2 mil on Cinda furnace passes in order to make it. >_>
Furnace passes suck.
Indeed. I felt so lucky getting a recipe for the level 40 Shoulder I wanted for cheap. Then I found out I had to spend over 500k to forge it anyway. lol It came out +7, so it was way worth it.
