An average person won't even be able to kill Madman Ranmaru in the first place... You still can't deny the fact that this is a good way to revamp a boss that no one really bothered with unless they wanted a quick source of exp. Normal Ranmaru still has a chance to drop the equipment as well; I got a Belt from one of my runs last night. If you take a quick run through the FM later tonight after people have had the chance to get their shops set up you can actually see quite a bit of the gear in the FM already, so the drop rate isn't quite as low as you seem to think, granted some of it could have been saved from Gachapon or Marvel Machine, but I was seeing the majority of it in the regular boss runner shops, so I'm inclined to believe it came from killing Ranmaru. Even if an "average player" is unable to get an equip to drop, it will still help out the economy by opening up a much cheaper, and still viable, alternative to cRA/Fafnir and Sweetwater gear (and before you say people won't even be able to afford the equipment, just give it a month; prices will crash hard due to this gear having a very low demand). Hell, with the recipes and shards becoming tradeable you could even try to craft the gear yourself for next to nothing.

Actually it can drop, but in that area, the drop rate is insanely high.

After finally getting a Big Spider familiar after so many years, this dropped on me for the third time since idkwhen.

No pet. Damn.

Seems like all the equips he drops are at least auto-Epic now.

Eh I've killed him twice now and gotten nothing with a wolf and greed pendant as well. None of my guildies have ever gotten anything so far either.

You could get lucky and get another box for another Blackheart pet... I do have something like +6 to +8 INT on the earrings which would be nice.

That yellow aura... my first unique drop ever (not counting RLH), and it's a level 15 archer hat. How sad.
