Reboot world discussion and tips

Just a heads up to people wondering about the Ninja Castle rewards -

You don't get a Bonus Potential scroll, you get a Meso sack instead.
You don't get an AEE.
You do get a 100% potential scroll, however.

i think many were hoping for classic maple with the ye olde content. however, reboot seems successful, server looks to be packed.

Not to be a plantain, but anyone who expected that is oblivious to how things work. Did anyone really expect them to release a patch, that uses the same EXE and everything as the normal servers, that would reset everything back to the "good old days"? Plus, it's called "Reboot", not "Restart". Anyone who expected that set themselves up for disappointment and may even need to check their head for massive amounts of tinfoil.

The whole point of Reboot is to put everyone on equal footing. The only thing that isn't equal footing at this point is Pets being cash-only still. Other than that, it has accomplished its goal. Every character has to be a fresh start, because you cannot trade equipment (even storage wise, I tried on my Kanna and it doesn't let me). Every character can be geared without cash shop stuff. It was never the point to go back to the old days. The point was to stop whales (and the game itself) from making the game unenjoyable.

As someone who never played GMS seriously, I rather like this. I can finally play GMS without feeling like I'm strangling myself because I wasn't around during the glitching and bugging, and don't have 10.5 trillion mesos to buy whatever I want. I can't even cheat by buying gear through NX transactions, because I can't trade gear with another player. If I want gear, I have to get it. If I want to cube it, I have to kill mobs to get money to buy those cubes.

My only major problem with Reboot right now is that I think the cubes cost too much, but I might also not be grinding correctly. 24m for a cube seems high, especially considering how many cubes you have to buy to be able to have a chance at getting a good result. But it's still infinitely better than what we have on any other server. The server is also young, so it remains to be seen how much 24m is in the long run.



I'm also of the position that anyone who thinks the old days of Maple were even that good are looking at their memories, and not the game itself. Original Maple was garbage. You were just young and didn't know any better, and those memories filter out the bad and keep the good.

The classic MapleStory experience wouldn't be complete without this.

2. If I have a sizzling santa in Scania, can I make one in Reboot?

whats the level requirement for sizzling santa? I just got to lv 33 and it didn't pop up...i tried relogging too.

It'll be under your quests on the side. Better to start at 35 or so so you can do 152 instead of 150.

On my Kanna on Reboot, I had to leave my Theme Dungeon, go to the Christmas area, and then it finally showed up. It really didn't want to. It was a hassle getting it started.

Something seems to be up with link skills - they like to randomly stop functioning and one must relog to fix it. I'm not sure if this is just on Reboot or if it's on other worlds too.

I honestly think that bosses are set backwards, and they drop everything except your class's gear. I've killed Hilla 6 times on my Kanna and have received everything EXCEPT something my Kanna can actually use. It's borderline insane. I ended up going to Dark Cornians and farming them until I got the full 140 set.

Has anyone else gotten credit for Boss Arena runs? I've run it twice now and Spiegelmann is trying to tell me I've yet to do it even once. What gives?

is there a reason to get 140 set over 130 set since you can transfer 130 set for empress or something?
