@IImaplers I think you're being a bit too stubborn about this. It's not a black and white issue about greed and generosity. If anything, the time he took out of his day and the trust he had to invest in the renters would be what he was payed for. Every renter knew something like this would happen sooner or later. In this case, it just happened to be sooner; however, that is not grounds to call out the one who supplied people, who very likely begged for the skill rents, and expect him to give back the money they knew full well was being used on a gamble.

3) I would feel 1000x worse if i were one of those people scrambling to get skills last minute, so i sympathize.

I'm allowed to be sad and i'm allowed to criticize Nexon's decision to keep quiet about something so important.

Almost makes it seem like he did it out of the goodness of his heart, when it's so obviously simple profit. Profit and nothing else. I probably should be arguing against the "merchanter's mentality" and the greed in this game in general, so again I am sorry for singling people out. Your idea of his greed is entirely based on the assumption that you know how he feels in his head. You, in reality, have no clue how he feels, only what you see. "Seeing" things doesn't help you fully understand.
You have no room to call him greedy.

I'm not faulting anyone here except those who seem to be ok with greed, including Nexon itself. People with this type of "I'm just doing business hurrdurr" mentality will do anything they can to serve themselves and don't give a crap about anyone else. This pure selfishness is the worst thing about the game, more so than Nexon's mismanagement of it. Your "don't hate the player, hate the game" excuse is overused and cliche. It's the same excuse that was used when the OPQ exp glitch came about, it's the same excuse that was used by MTS merchants who sold hacked items, it's the same excuse used by greedy businessmen in the real world or people sitting on welfare and taking advantage of the system instead of making themselves actually useful and looking for a job they're easily capable of doing.

You said earlier that he should give the mesos back to the buyers. Let's look at it in a different way:
A glitch abuser sold something to people who knew it was glitch abuse, which also makes them glitch abusers.
With your mentality, you should be against both, yet you want buyers to be payed back. That makes no sense.

I'm glad that this got patched, even if I did lose a bit because I rented some skills a while back. The only thing that bothers me is that the sellers didn't get screwed too.

What your asking of Nexon is hilarious, it's basically on the same level of asking them to warn dupers and hackers ahead of time when they patch their hacks.

Lol okay, this is exactly why GlobalMS is so messed up. People don't care about the long run (the community, morals, THE GAME) they just care about the pomegranate right in front of their faces (damage) and will go to no extent to reach it (glitching, hacking, etc.) You guys at Southperry can keep whining about how horrible Nexon is and how they've ruined the game but from what i've seen the people with the mentality I mentioned above play a major role in why Maplestory is on a downward slope.

Oh well, it was going to happen sooner or later if another version like MSEA already did it.

I must apologize for calling someone greedy when they've made loads off an item that became non-existent mere hours later and only did it out of the kindness of their hearts when they could've done it for free, then subsequently "subtly" mention that there's no chance they'll return any kind of refund because there was a need for it to be mentioned. I also must apologize for hurting the feelings of butthurt cheaters.

Let's just put the blame on those who've properly earned those items the hard way and understand that all the sweat they've put into earning them is priceless.
