More EE hacked weapons gone

on a more serious note, im pretty happy nexon did this, even though i think d-bags like those ^ are gonna ruin nexons efforts again soon.

Just read the whole thread and got a couple things out of it:

1) Everyone seems to really hate dupe/hacked weapons.
2) Everyone acknowledges duping hurts the game in some way.
3) Everyone wants to see duping gone.
4) Everyone has been arguing against each other when you've been agreeing with the same things the whole time.

Sure, there are those people who advocate duping, but I can say for the most part we all have the same ideals. If we just took the time to read posts more thoroughly and drop arguments with stupid people, this thread would be 3x shorter.

That's because most users on this site have nothing better to do than to try to start an argument in every single thread that's ever made. And most of them will defend themselves by saying they're just "debating", except most of the time it turns into them arguing about the argument itself because they realized the argument was going no where :B

Actually, it's because we like to make sure that the answer is correct if it's a question, and there's a pretty strong anti-hacker sentiment here.

well, you indirectly called me an illegitimate player in another thread. i take it seriously... that and you're a hacker and you destroy the game i enjoy. big no-no in my books.

Look at the title of this thread, now read the past 9 pages of arguing. What question are you talking about? I can find at least 10 other threads where a regular thread that's not asking for an answer to something that turns into an argument over something stupid.

And believe it or not, I guarantee a good chunk of users here have hacked or currently hack and just don't admit it.

This whole going back and forth between who is a hacker and who isn't is extremely annoying, as well as all the arguing that has been happening lately, as Killed mentioned.

Who gives a flying pineapple if someone implied or flat out called you a hacker - you know whether or not that accusation is true.

Maplestory has long been run by illegitimate players, and quite honestly we have all benefited from it all in some way, shape, or form.

Please, Southperry, as Kurtle said not too long ago, grow up.

Any more arguing about who is/isn't a hacker/legitimate gets you banned from the thread. Jesus guys.

i knew this thread was trouble, glad i stayed away from posting, provided a nice show (and a few facepalms) but hey, at least i wasn't in any of the sides arguing.

I too had an amusing 9 pages to read. I now really hate the phrase "QQ'd" even more and bolded text is the new caps lock.

I agree with everything you said, but I still would have compensated them more. Like I said, Nexon shares blame as well. They let this go on for a long time and I'm almost 100% sure that if that Golden Hammer Glitch never happened, those weapons would still be around today along with the starred ones which have been around for about 2 years now. Only reason why they're acting now is because they did pineappleed up on the Hammer Glitch and when they were removed, everyone, hundreds of them, piled on them at the Nexon forums saying well what about the Enhanced Hacked stuff?

That's why I don't think Nexon will give a pomegranate about the other armors/accessories. The majority just specifically peached about the weapons.

I'm sorry but I just had to comment on your ignorant post. You say that Nexon is to blame as well and need to compensate you even though you knew better and been told countless times that you shouldn't be buying those items. So you telling me if you spent thousands of dollars on pot and years past with out being caught doing so, and finally are caught that the police should compensate you with the money you spent on pot because they didn't arrest you right away? With your logic you are telling everyone who breaks the rules should get compensation if the power in charge do not take action right away. If you are going to break the rules in anything in this game, another game, or just in real life then you should be an adult and take responsibility if or when you are caught.

Hi guys, just thought I'd come in to say I quit MS again cause even though all this hacking deflated everything.

Guess what! Nothing in-game I can really farm to afford crap anyway! Why would i spend 2 weeks fusing sneakers to afford one skillbook that can easily fail when there's other MMOs that I can meet the average stat curve without spending MONTHS lurking FM in the most not-fun activity possible? (which hardly will make me any money cause El Nido FM is so SMALL.)

I sort of get his point though. You said we were "told countless times" that we should not use the weapons, but in actuality, Nexon's actions implied the opposite. They were blatantly sold/bought/smega'd for a very, very long time. If you were a newer player, you would think it was just a godly weapon until you educated yourself. Hacked weapons had been going on for so long that they had almost become the norm and acceptable to many players. You can compare this situation to HT, which is still broken. If you've been around for awhile, it's common knowledge that you need to get on a list of 30 people after each SC in order to fight Horntail, and after that, you can only solo the boss until the next SC if you are on the list. Nowhere is it stated in any description that those are requirements for Horntail, but it's been "broken" for so long that it's become normal/expected. Hacked weapons haven't been going on for nearly as long, but they are approaching that level.

Your analogy doesn't work for that reason. Marijuana is almost universally frowned upon by society and the laws in place against it are actually enforced. Hacked weapons have been running around unpunished for so long that you can not fault players who cave in in the same way. A slightly better (but still bad) analogy is jay walking. It's illegal, because it can cause serious accidents/harm but that law is never enforced. Because of that, nobody frowns on jaywalking, and most people will jaywalk without giving a second thought because it's the norm.

However, I still don't think there should be compensation. I think Nexon needs to look to fix their future policies rather than waste time fixing their infinite amount of past mistakes.

PS: Your wording implies that lovevictim uses the weapons himself and is upset that they're gone. Just in case: he's didn't use a craven at all, even near the end (one of the very few "famous" people to never cave in).

?? Nexon knew who was doing it, what was happening, for a LONG time now and only took action recently because of a similar exploit was out.

And don't say compensate me as I would never use one of those disgusting weapons.
