for WS as an I/L mage all you need to do is freeze the mobs and stay in the middle of them in a spot without monsters. Then you alternate between using Ice Strike facing left or right so the monsters don't get knocked back onto you.

the only sniping spot are the ones near the the top (to the left and to the right)
and the bottom ones.

If you are so concerned about pot usage, then sell that ilbie you found. Also, you could find a 9 or 10x dk and a priest to go there with you and the dk could kill the arms while you handle the bottom middle spawn by sniping. but meh.

ppl and their "idw to spend mezarz" bother me because if you don't have the money to train, then either go pq, make a new char, or quit.

I have mesos (1xx mil), but I just hate wasting mesos on pots. I spend around 8 mil just to restock! The just pisses me off. Any other safe training areas? If not i'ma go back to windraiders and v/hoodoos.
There arent any good pqs out there that match up with training.
Starting over seems pointless.
I quited like 8xx times only to come back an hour later. XD

I am using pretty much all clean equips, other than some random hp stuff I have and 14 speed shoes. What are some cheap items I can buy that would be worth their cost?( I have about 50-70m I can spend) I have never really played a mage before, so I am pretty noob about this stuff. Thanks

You haven't considered being lukless? Otherwise, at such a low level, the only things you can equip are earrings...

Yeah you should go luk-less.. I'm about to got down that road, but need 100k nx for ap resest... XD.
An earring, yellow work glove, snowshoes, and Cpq necklace would be good for you... A 15 int overall would be nice too...

Well, I guess im not truly lukless, but I dont plan on adding more luk.

edit: At above: I already have speed shoes, so snowshoes seem pointless and I do have a cpq necklace, 1/1/1/1 60/60. And I'm guessing for an overall I would want a bathrobe or sauna?

I imagine that scrolling a good cape, earrings, and/or weapon would be cheaper and add equal or more int/magic attack.

He won't be scrolling any weapon until later. You don't scroll weapons at level 3x...

Well you can scroll weapons at 3x, it just what you scroll with that matters, 100%'s anyone?

But I do agree that you should wait to seriously scroll a weapon, I know that I am going to save a bunch of staff and wand scrolls to make hopefully a half decent Wisdom Staff or Shine Wand.

What about the maple weapon level 43, you dont need luk and it can be used until level 64... The overall isn't really needed until your late 50s so uhh... You can blow right past cpq and LMPQ but when you hit 60 (v/hoodoos or MP3) you'll need the atk boost.. Trust me

With the whole Imma low-luk thing.
Don't worry about Resetting.
A Doomsday Staff will set you up fine.
And at 26 luk you are just a zhelm-egg and maker skill away from adding and scrolling no LUK 80

I got the following skills:
level 30- Ice Strike
level 2- Amplification
level 1- Thunder Spear (for fun)
level 1- Elemental Comp.

I'm gonna get level 5 amp. then max bosster... After booster I go for amp then seal... then i'll be like level 107 with like unamx TS and EC.. i dont want eith any suggestions? :f6:

I'm not even a mage and I know that maxing Booster (at least at this stage) instead of leaving it at 11 is a waste of 9 points.

For Mana Reflection, I noticed the maximum "reflected" damage is 1/20 instead of the 20% it says in the description. Can anybody confirm?

Then where am I suppose to but it? I'm not getting Thunder Spear thats for sure, which leaves me with 29 sp points... Magic Comp won't get maxed neither, I'ma just leave it at level 1, another 29 left over... wheres that extra 58 sp gonna go?

I think what Dusk means is that you should get level 5 amp, then 11 booster, then max amp. If you choose to max booster, you should do so much later on; likely your last several levels before 4th job.
