It's a pity there's no blink dagger in LoL because otherwise she'd be amazing. Although, she is basically a better version of Morgana. She has a similar large disable and performs a similar role but has a natural initiation and has a natural Zhonya's, two things that Morgana has to use summoners or spend a fairly large amount of gold to get.
She'll be quite strong if her numbers aren't stupid.
Having his main initiation tool also to work as a main escape move doesn't seems too bad for many. You just have to know when to go in and when to back away, besides she charged with so much CC that chasing her would be a major pain in the ass. Also her Ult its a 1.5 sec of stasis (like her own personal Zhonya/Wooglet) and the stun its also 1.5. The damage over time of her Ult seems to be over 3 sec starting from the stun.

Yeah but it means that for as squishy a hero as she is, she doesn't have a reliable, non-flash escape even though she's meant to be putting herself on the front lines.
Basically she has to operate as a secondary initiator without flash up because she has nothing to help her get out of a hairy situation or chase a fleeing target besides her glacial path which is her initiation.

Well there is always flash, kind of. Besides her ult + Zhonya's gives 4sec for her whole team to come over and Win or Disperse (Or miserably lose) the Teamfight.
Also Squishy its just a relative term to either your skills or your currently bought items. A RoA + Rylai + Lament should giver her enough HP to don't get squashed instantly without reducing her overall power.

Are you talking about Lissandra? Because her E (the giant hand skill), can teleport herself to the end of the hand.

Casts an ice claw thats deals 70/115/160/205/250 ( +.6 AP )magic damage to all enemies hit. Reactivating this ability transports Lissandra to the claw's current location.
Which can be used for an escape.
She was also designed for kiting:

My post was addressing if she uses that for an initiation. She can't safely be the initiator for her team, she has to be a followup act like Morgana most of the time. Which is a weakness in my book.

Why would you use E to go in a teamfight anyway? Her ult stuns from range, but only slows when turning her invulnerable. And if you are using it to catch someone off who will most likely die (I mean using it against a tankier person is suicide), they should either die, be out of the fight, or turn around and slap you. Imo Zhonya will be core on her too, so you shouldn't be caught off that bad.

Because her W? (Or her E?) its a Point Blank AoE from her location that snares + Damages, so its kinda like an amumu using his bandage to go in then Ulting. It's not an absolute way to play with her, but its quite possible.

If they are alone and your team is right there then go for it, but if their whole team is there and you're trying to pull a morgana flash ult thingy then you better have a zhonya. If they don't all die and just sit around and collapse on you then gg too. I would just poke from the side like kassadin, cause you know you don't HAVE to teleport with her e, and that skill still does aoe damage to the people you're aiming at.
I still feel that putting yourself in the middle of the enemy team just for that slow is dumb, stunning one person from far away AND slowing everyone around them while being at a safe distance is the better idea. Only way I see it being used is to wait out damage, using it when caught out, dodging karth ult etc

Dare i mention the damage on the ult is sorta good, and going in with E then W and R yourself means 1.5 sec of that DoT from her ult, and the slow helps with the other 1.5, then you have that Lyandry Torment its a good item for her. Whatever being the Main initiation or a good follow up she has that possibility when needed.
Also im saying this just because in the kind of "Balls to the Wall" player that likes to be in the middle of pomegranate, and i see the possibility of doing that with Lissandra. (Besides her W feels wasted without that kind of interaction with the teleport from her E, since the W is casted around you like amumu ult)

tbh, the range of w is pretty low, so you will prob only catch 1-2 enemies at most

Its only 100 range less than amumu bandage toss, but the range or catching people with it isn't what important, its what happen after. The speed of the projectile though its a bigger concern to me.
Edit: Playing a little with lissandra in the PBE i can honestly see, that you REALLY need to be in the middle of pomegranate to do anything, Her skill ranges are kinda pathetic and not to mention that if you want to do damage with E you REALLY need to snipe it or do it close range. Her W does nothing if you aren't near the target period. Her q initial range is SHORT, heck i think even Max Level Tris can hit farther than her, but hitting a target (Wink wink minions for harass) increase the range a little bit over 200 or 300 units from point of impact.
I also though her W and R inflicted DoT (Too bad), they are just really bursty dealing instant damage (Although it was kinda gratifying blowing a full health khaxix with a full Up close combo, i also had like 30-40% CDR making me use Q twice on him and ignite finished the deal).
My recommended items on her are RoA (First Buy), anything made with Haunting Guise (Torch and Lament in each map), and maybe a Rylai thrown in the mix for good extra HP meassure. Zhonyas/Wooglet are also a good buy on her and that Abyssal Scepter could be good too since you are in the middle of pomegranate anyway (Although i would only recomend that over Void if you are having troubles with the other AP, otherwise Void for the Magic Pen).
