Everyone is aware that he is "the kenpachi" and just got a massive power up, and it only seems to work if he can make it believable. For it to even have a chance of working, someone would have to see him land a potentially fatal attack on kenpachi AND convince them that it worked without them waiting to see if it did or not.
I think that the illusion and a claim would be enough for anyone (or simply just the illusion), maybe except for those in the 11th division (up to the writer probably).

And as much as all those theories make sense and seem pretty likely, if they were true letter by letter then Kenpachi already won and the battle is almost over, because there's no way Gremmy can't make Kenpachi believe a thing. Considering how much Kubo likes to draw thigns out, 'm sure Gremmy still holds something up his sleeve. more likely considering he is the strongest among the sternritten.
Or so he claims.

Sorry but I think that was confirmed by Hashbalt saying "protect his highness". He sure is not stronger than Juhabach, but that makes him look stronger than Hashbalt and Hashbalt is supposed to be the second strongest (or third after Uryuu idk)..

Maybe if you use the word zanpato to mean "long thing with a blade", but it looks much closer to a bearded axe that has been comically enlarged to ridiculous levels than any sword.

Hehe, I loved seeing all the SR crapping their pants over this. I have taken a liking to Gremmy though he's a pretty crappy character objectively so far.
Yhwach's panel took a bit away from that though.

He seemed like he was trully capable of killing Kenpachi with that galaxy room technique, why didn't he just spam it?...
And yeah seems there will be no clarification of how his powers work after all, next chapter will be the dued flashbacks showing how his life sucked before becoming a sternritten and w.e

I actually would have liked to have seen gremmy transform into some ridiculous beast that couldn't 'think' as a result of trying to imagine being something unimaginable, and then eventually being killed anyway by kenpachi.
Meh, this battle wasn't executed too well anyway so I doubt that scenario would have helped.

Wow I would have much preferred this senario. I feel like Kubo didn't know where to go so he took the easy way out and had Gremmy suicide...

Question:
When was the last semi major fight that didn't end in disappointment? We all know by now,it wouldn't be bleach any other way.

Ulquiorra? that one ended up fine for me. Also Rukia's fight was reverted from being a disappointment. You probably think otherwise, but I say Rukia killing As nodt (or w.e) by herself instead of big bro Byakuya doing it yet once again was much better.

I was expecting that the first post about the chapter would be about the content, not bitching about the duration.
From reading in between the lines, it seems almost as if since he "imagined a world without imagination" that Yachiru herself might me part of Kenpatchi's imagination. Might be an interesting turn of events...

It was short though, you gotta admit.
I assumed that is what happened though, poor yachiru was his imaginary friend.

What a bad chapter, seriously.
And you know, everyone wanted Kubo to give Yachiru spotlight time and reveal her as someone strong, instead he might have just killed her. Damn he sure is taking it back on the readers for all the criticism he gets.

Why are people bitching about Kenpachi's "easy" take down when he hasn't even taken off his eyepatch yet?
Being able to do this much eyepatched is good enough, for me at least.

Because it's bleach and the vs gremmmy fight will likely be the end of kenpachis serious fights.
He can't move and so he can't take his eyepatch off, he is for all intents and purposes dead without the help of whoevers about to intervene.
Not that any of these fights are interesting at all, as the enemies aren't getting any buildup, given that most of them appear out of nowhere just to fight someone and lose right after the first appearance.

I'm not sure I like Kubo giving them names, its not working the way it did with Espadas. Maybe it'd be good enough leaving it at just "the powrer, the zombie" and such.

I agree. Despite the lacking way it was represented, Gremmy was supposedly the strongest sternritten. Kenpachi was worn off by his fight against him and on top, was attacked from behind by girls which are no pushover (they ate Bambietta and took her powers didn't they?).
Like someone said on mangastream, If that is Ichigo I hope he walks in, laughs at Kenpachi for losing to a bunch of girls, takes his eye patch off and then leaves. That or Yachuri going Bankai if she is even around anymore.

I think what is wrong is he's only introducing them before they immediately get into a fight and die.
Gremmy literally did not exist to our knowledge until about 7 chapters ago, and the only thing he did was fight Yachiru and then Kenpachi. It's just not possible to care about characters that are so worthless, even by bleach standards.
All we have to go on is his own insane claims that he is the strongest sternritter, which might as well be complete lies for all we (or he) know.
