Not exactly X and Y related, but the free booster codes from the promo made me start playing TCG online.
I'm really enjoying it, it's a lot of fun.

According to an interview on Polygon, it has been stated that no Kalos Pokémon will have a Mega Evolution within Pokémon X & Y.
Aurorus has a move called Freeze Dry, which is an Ice-type move which freezes the opponent but is said to be super effective against Water-type Pokémon.
Various details are coming in from impressions at the media briefing last week. Pokémon will gain EXP when a Pokémon is captured. The Pokémon Centers not only have the standard PokéMart, but will also have a place for you to change your outfit

I like the idea behind the mechanics of the ice type but the T-Rex looks too good, tough choice....

Also again only slightly related, in the new X&Y series i have read that Ash is confirmed to be one year older than when his trip started? Only took 5 generations.
So far i only heard it from an unofficial source so i wouldn't be surprised if it's false and Ash is still only 10, but would be fun if he had aged.
If anyone has an official source for this i'd love to see it.

Indeed it is the first time. I usually don't use Dragons, but I think this might be an exception :3

I'm not sure if Ash has aged, but I find it interesting that Serena is Ash's childhood friend. Meaning they are finally giving Ash some backstory which is just... wow.

I'm sad, I wanted them to give us a way to get the other starters. I want my favourite pokemon (Totodile). Well, Since Kalos pokemon won't have megaforms, I hope that fennekin becomes Fire/psychic, if not, bye bye to the Kalos' starters and Hello Bulbasaur.

I dislike the idea of having 2 starters as well. It seems stupid to have all these new pokemon available to us, and then they throw extremely popular older pokemon at us right at the beginning. I can understand it's about nostalgia, but from a gameplay perspective, I dislike it.

Same with the Torchic distribution. Torchic with Speed Boost is overpowered. I'm going to get Fennekin or Froakie, and then throw the other 2 starters in the box until I complete the story.

Oh god, I forgot about torchic... This is kinda stupid, 3 starters... 2 with mega forms. If I don't like any of the new starters, I'll use one to get some pokemon (even rattata) and store them. I did that in B/W 1 & 2. I think that starters are waaay too OP stats wise and to be honest I rarely use them unless they are totodile's evolutionary line.

I'm just gonna treat X and Y as "Pokémon Fanservice Version" and just have fun with it. It's been a while since a Pokémon game has actually made me excited.

As far as giving us older starters so early, I'm thinking of it like this; If they continue to make older starter Pokémon more accessible, eventually they'll reach a point where the old starters begin to feel like a normal Pokémon. Wouldn't that make us value our starter for that generation that much more?

Where the hell do the professors even get them from? you can't find them in the wild anywhere, hardly any trainers even use them, and yet somehow the professors are giving them out to every new trainer? it's weird.

Seems redundant. All the pokemon games have included all pokemon from all previous games.

You can guarentee that all 649 won't be catchable though. (Without a prior gen game)

actually by bulbapedia, they are rare pokemon that are being bred and raised in special farms from eggs until they are ready to fight (lvl 5 on the games).
OT:Gen V disappointed me very much, but this new gen and games are much better.
