There are several ways a work glove can end up 221 nx.

1) They were mass scrolling and somehow the wrong work glove ended up selling for the wrong price. This usually happens when someone have 2~3 of the same colored work gloves, but when they were scrolled, some of them turned out like crap (such as a 2atk wg with 0 slots). Thinking that the (2atk wg) was being put for 221, the user accidentally put it the 8atk wg.

2) Stupidity reigns. My friends told me that some people who don't know how to use the MTS try cross server transferring by opening two computers, entering the item in for 110 nx, and then running over to the other computer to buy it hoping nobody'll notice. Needless to say, this doesn't work.

3) They're stupid and don't know prices.

4) They're quitting, and dumping it into MTS up for grabs is better than dropping in FM where hackers can loot your item using vac hack.

The best way to world transfer is to suck it up and pay the tax. Even paying 30K for the thing, it's only going to cost you 3K (10% tax), and you could just buy glove atk scrolls and wire it back to your original account.

Inspired by Harrisonized, I hit the MTS two days ago. I was just making chump change (you can see some of my other deals in the screenshot), getting amounts like 300-400 NX, when I found this:

I know it's a good deal, but I'm getting P/Cs between 11m and "at least 50m" and I have no idea how much NX it's worth Currently sitting in MTS for 6150

That's why when I scroll, I start with two so that if one booms, I won't be scared to 70% the second one.

I'd rather pay 50mil and not blow this one up than try to get another 18 stat 1 slot bottomwear... even if +5 of 6 70% happened without breaking, it would cost me at least 35mil including the cost of above avg. clean item. There's pretty much no chance of me getting that +5 on my next try.


Current "next best" is 10 stats, so I'd need +4 70% (50% chance of breaking it in 4 slots, 25% of all 4 working) to match my current pants.

Would you say then that to MTS, one should treat the place like how one plays the WoW auction house? WoW auction house is somewhat similar to the MTS system in the sense not only can you search for items, they have a Buyout option where it's the exact same thing as buying something immediately.

I can't answer you cuz I don't play WoW, but on MS, it's really easy to check the price of an item using the Sale tab of MTS. What you're describing is more similar to the Auction tab of MTS, and that section is pretty much unused.

Also, how much should one worry about a fluctuation in prices in the MTS? For WoW auction house, the average price of items can go up or own easily over the course of a few days, or every other week. Of course, the WoW auction house is server wide, while the MTS system is shared between all servers. >.>

There's barely ever a fluctuation on the popular items. The less popular items fluctuate each day. As a rule, if you are not sure, do not go for it. One bad investment can screw up your profits. See that craven in my screenshot? That was a bad investment, because I was unable to resell for a better price. (If you're wondering, I got it for 760 but now it won't sell so the meso invested there would what I consider to be 'stagnant'.)

I spent like 12 seconds in there and I saw Claw ATT 30% for 560 NX.(Somewhere around that)

The sad part is...I didnt have NX that time and was going to buy some 2 hours later.

Last question: By looking at your SS's, I'm guessing you just look at the recent postings people put up? Because if that's how you got your deals.........

MTS merchanting really isn't that hard. It's just more about reactions than FM merchanting. It's actually quite a bit faster, I think.
