Hyrule Warriors
Getting back to talking about the actual game, the developers have hinted that a new playable character might be added in the next update, and there is a possibility it may be the female Link design shown in the artbook.

EDIT: oh wait, no sorry, read it wrong. There won't be a new character on September first, they meant the update after that one.

Going back to this, Link was never just a commoner in any Zelda game. His bloodline actually links him to the Hylian Knights, making him a form of royalty. This was first made known in A Link to the Past, where Link is thought to be the last surviving member of the Hylian Knight bloodline. Not to mention, because he becomes a hero, saving the kingdom and the Princess, that immediately increases his position on the class hierarchy. This is actually a thing in A Link to the Past where Link is allowed to stay with Zelda in the Hyrule Castle after his adventure, in order to protect the Triforce (hence why he was summoned by the Goddesses in the openings of the Oracle games to the Triforce, which was housed in the castle), instead of continuing to live with his uncle in his humble abode.

Link has far more influence in the games than any commoner, which is why he's allowed to do as much as he can. He may start off as what people would think would be a commoner, but his bloodline and his destiny put him far above that.

At first I was going to be upset since I already pre-ordered, but when I read it was only at Nintendo World, I became rustled.

In the game originally was a glitch where characters would sometimes use other characters weapons, for example Ganondorf using Agitha's parasol, or Link using Impa's blade. but the characters still used their original movesets.

In the recent update however, the glitch was made worse (better?) by the equipped weapons also changing the characters moveset too.

I hope they end up making this into a real feature, cause dayumnn thats cool.

Not sure how relevant it is, but the review embargo for the North American (and European?) version(s) of the game was lifted.

Nintendo Life
IGN

Both linked gave the game a 7/10, citing graphical issues in single and multiplayer.
Doesn't sound like the game is "Amazing", but it does sound like it's a generally fun experience.
Also, lots of references for long time series fans.

Dynasty Warriors games are always on the lower side of ratings with conflicted reviews. Having the series cater to a very specific type of gamer always screws with reviewers.

Besides. Due to being human beings, any reviewer is prone to bias. No matter how hard they try to remain objective.

Another reason to get a Wii U I suppose.

I didn't think reviews were suppose to be objective. They are just an opinion from someone who played a game, so...

Either way, wont be a day one buy for me, but I do think it'll be a fun one to play.

Problem is quite a lot of people take reviews as the "End all be all".

While I'm aware of this, that doesn't change that reviews should be used to help one gain more knowledge about a title when they aren't sure if they want to pick it up (like me) rather than a definitive opinion on how good a game is.
I don't like the wording of my post...

It has been confirmed on twitter that the free characters and the first DLC pack (as well as pre-orders for all the rest) will be available starting Oct 16th in the EU. (and i'm assuming the same for NA too)

Also some pretty low quality footage of playable Cia in action:

I like her unique weapon!
She summons Dark Links!

Twitter confirmation on a "Season Pass" for the game. I can't get any more hyped than I already am Nintendo!
I know I was going to get a prepaid eshop card for the MK8 DLC when I went to go pickup Hyrule Warriors, but this is just too good to pass up.

20 bucks is pretty dang good for all of that if you ask me. Definitely jumping on this DLC train. Just one more week to go for NA release!

I'm wondering what these new modes will be. And that Majora's Mask pack!

Wonder who the characters will be

if Koei takes the lazy route on new game modes by porting previous DW game modes, examples would be

Versus Mode(direct 1 on 1 fight)
Legend Mode(small made up smaller story lines for each character)
