DavyJonesx Wrote:Wait hold up!
So since we're getting 2 weeks of 1 hours episodes; that means that in 2 weeks this season ends already?!

I don't wanna wait another damn year Frown
Oh dear, I didn't realize that. still, the next 2 weeks are going to be epic as hell.

They would be total dicks if they don't conclude this thing on this season.
And I got a feeling they won't. 2 Episodes, and a lot of pomegranate still going on, unless they do another double episode week I don't see how can they finish this without rushing everything.

There's four episodes left, however the next two weeks will both be double episodes.

I'd rather they make a cliffhanger over rushed ending like last season.

It wasn't rushed. The first season was meant to be a one shot of sorts. It was only meant to be one season, but they extended it very soon after the finale.

Exactly what Takebacker said. It was meant to be a series over 12 episodes. Then mid-way through (or maybe a little before it started, I can't remember anymore) they were asked to do more.

This season it feels like they took too much advantage of the fact that they have another 20+ episodes after this season, because they wasted half of it with bleh episodes and crappy storyline.

I know it was meant to be just one season but that fact still doesn't make the rushed feel go away.

Wait a minute, is there a third season confirmed?.

There's going to be a third and fourth season. Between all 4 seasons it will combine for 52 episodes.

Geez, no wonder some chapters feel rushed or lackluster. So, we aren't going to see the airbending's sub ability in this book... And I was looking forward to see it Sad . Well, I guess that my bet that korra would die at the end is now wrong...

Still hoping that Jinora discovers it. I'm kinda secretly hoping that The radio explanation to Wan Shi Tong foreshadows Sound bending/

Genius. I want it to happen so bad.

I really wish they had the full team of writers they did in ATLA. I keep seeing rookie writing mistakes, like telling instead of showing. If they had a full roster of writers, they might have been able to actually fit the whole plot into 14 episodes, but instead we get important information shoved purely into dialogue and characters acting like complete idiots.

Do we have less writers this time? They must have kept the bad and subpar ones.

Just by looking at the wikipedia page, ATLA had 10 writers, potentially not concurrently, and Korra has 4, two of which are the show creators which while excellent at worldbuilding are not so good at actual writing.

The first and second seasons weren't really all that interesting except for a select few cases. Finales, ba sing se, few fighting scenes, and maybe some history, but overall is kind of painful to watch through completely. Korra isn't any different nix 1st season but that was because, like i said, it was created as a one shot. I'm not really sure where the issues with korra being dumb are though. I'm sure the 1 hr specials will far more than make up for it. (or just leave us with a massive cliff hanger...)

I disagree. I rewatched ATLA last year around the time I watched Korra season 1 and I liked all of ATLA more than I liked Korra. I thought they were better paced, had better dialogue, and were generally more entertaining. Also, the protagonist was infinitely better.

The characters carried that show. The main characters in Korra were already weaker, and season 2 turned most of them into total dunces.

I think the characters in Korra have good potential, like Korra, Asami and Mako. and to an extent, Bolin too (they could do so much more with his character than him just being the comic relief).
I think they are massively under-used though, and dumbed down at certain points to make the plot go in a certain direction.

To be fair though, with the theme this season being "Spirits" it makes sense that Mako, Asami and Bolin have less to do with the plot, they are however building up a secondary plot which I hope will lead into a bigger story next season, rather than bogging down the ending with it.

I have a feeling that the second season is mostly just building up new groundwork, since the first season was meant only to be a one-off, they need to build up some conflict, and some plot for the next few seasons.

They couldn't build any groundwork up in the first season, because the plot was open and shut with no real room to build on, other than the characters. Thus the second season has put the characters on the backburner to set up the world and lore more, which I think they have done very well.

The final 4 episodes are probably going to be good regardless, but I have MUCH higher hopes for next season, when they will have hit their stride more, with all the groundwork laid out they can focus back on the characters and give them more development.

This is all just my opinion, but it seems pretty fitting.
