Cygnus impressions
JoeTang Wrote:How fast is Storm Breath, roughly? At max level, it should be significantly more powerful than Arrow Bomb, as well as Iron Arrow (mobs). Level 1 wouldn't be as great though, especially compared to Iron Arrow's power.

LevelSkill Distribution
30+1 Wind Breath [1]
31+3 Bow Mastery [3]
32+2 Bow Mastery [5] +1 Bow Booster [1]
33+3 Bow Booster [4]
34+1 Bow Booster [5] +2 Soul Arrow [2]
35+3 Bow Mastery [8]
36+3 Bow Mastery [11]
37+3 Bow Mastery [14]
38+3 Bow Mastery [17]
39+2 Bow Mastery [19] +1 Wind Breath [2]
40+3 Wind Breath [5]
41+3 Wind Breath [8]
42+3 Wind Breath [11]
43+3 Wind Breath [14]
44+3 Wind Breath [17]
45+3 Wind Breath [20]
46+3 Wind Walk [3]
47+3 Wind Walk [6]
48+3 Wind Walk [9]
49+1 Wind Walk [10] +2 Final Attack [2]
50+3 Final Attack [5]

That build seem good? I still see Final Attack as fairly useless early on. Especially in CPQ seeing as how you get a fairly strong Mob Skill.

Alternatively, it would be to place Final Attack after 19 Bow Mastery and moving everything down a bit. Since they have spare points in second, and FA is active, they could easily spare the points to max it for faster single target.
Their FA is meh... I'm not even planning on getting it. I got some FA on my bowmaster and it's probably the only thing I regret doing. I really hate it, and while some of the annoyances are removed by having it castable, I don't see myself casting it. My build is similar to that, except instead of FA I have been working on Booster, and my SA is at 6. This is the length I'm used to on my BM so I'm going to finish up Wind Walk (which is at 4) before going back to it.

See, while Storm Breath doesn't consume arrows, how this usually works is you hit 2-3 monsters with it, knock them back, then pick up more as you're going across the map. What this really means is that the first 5 usually die and leave you with one, which you'd finish off with DS. The thing is when you're spamming Storm Breath and don't need SA on, it'll tend to expire right when you need it.

The real issue with it, versus Bomb or IA, is that it's got such a short range, and it doesn't bend. It goes out as a projectile about as tall as your character and doesn't hit any below or above that, so you can't snipe with it. When I was looking at a lot of the common 2nd job archer training spots, they usually involve sniping from a platform with bomb or IA; you just can't do that with Storm Breath. Also, because of Bomb's odd critical (Doubling damage instead of adding 100%) it's only equal. Granted it doesn't have the weak hit of bomb, but that's pretty much canceled out by the fact that you have to chase your monsters all over the map to finish them off.

This does open them up to a lot of melee-type training spots (I find myself falling back to the same places I trained my infighter many months ago) but really, who wants to be a melee archer? We picked Archers to be ranged.

Sn1perJohnE Wrote:going by this thought, it sounds like they should have made the cap more around 140 or 150. by doing that they could even think of stretching the job advance lengths, tho it does sound kind of nice that, if they are pretty strong at 120, they could just be used mainly for Zakum and Pap runs, just mainly for using it.

On another thought, the lower lvl cap may make it an alternative to those looking to get to the max lvl, even without a lvl cap at 120, 80 lvls in that high of a lvl range is a long process.
yeah I think 150 would have been nice. Most of the Cygnus jobs have less skills in their advancement than you'd expect (I have 7 beginner skills, 5 first job, and 7 second job. That's kinda messed up.) As it stands now the classes that could even survive going to Zak and HT are gonna be suffering from huge damage reductions due to the level difference, and since bossing is pretty much the only endgame content there's not much you can do as a 120 cygnus.

Oh, and if you guys want I can try to take a video but it wouldn't be very exciting. I'm not sure if the lag will allow it though so I'll have to test it first.

Except go back to your X level parent.

I just don't have time to read 8 pages of responses, but lemme get this straight:
You have a premade character. You go on that character, and it shows you a video with you doing awesome moves. Then it takes you to a dark room asking you if you want to join knights of cygnus. You did and it took you to a different create-a-character screen. You made a new character, which was a beginer, or a Knights of Cygnus beginer? And he was created in a slot that was made for him, or do you need an open slot?

It gave you a 4th slot when you logged in (Accounts made after the patch still only get 3, I believe) and created the Cygnus in that. If you didn't have a slot I imagine it wouldn't let you make it. And yes, it's a Cygnus Beginner, a Noblesse.

Yeah they get another mount at 100, looks similar but better. And the doll master's name does seem to be Francis.

Cygnus characters going up to 150 would break the game. As it is they have as much AP at max as a 144 regular character, and at 150 they would have as much AP as a lvl 180 regular character. That character would be much easier to train and get to 150 than to get another to 180. I think they were right to cap Cygnus at 120. Besides, as has been discussed before, Cygnus are really ment as a side-quest, not to be a main.

No.... not actually. After level 70 they only get 5 AP per lvl. A level 120 Cygnus has the around the same stat total of that of a level 133 char
seeing that cygnus HAS a fourth job, they might extend the lvl limit.[Image: 1230785453_8.jpg]

I don't see how they can extend it past 120. They had the Hall of Fame ready from the get go. Which is full of player NPC's now.

4th job could be the last 2 skills, achieved at level 100...
Reply
Or the 4th job skills could be the level 200 skills (Echo of Hero) and possible new skills.

and at lvl 10 after the advancement, i heard they get extra ab points, true or untrue? and how about lvl 30 and 70 advancement? its for some crazy calculations im doing =p

ok well thanks for answering my previous questions, i know i ask a lot but yea Tongue thanks goodjob isaac!

p.s. i see the cygnus got 3 skillpoints for the 4th job window, are those the lvl 120 skillpoints? its a glitch right?

Which job skills are obtained at lvl100 for each class?

EDIT: Also, what would be the date of The Knights of Cygnus' "official" release to KMS.
While on that subject, can I also get a date to Pirate job's "official " release in KMS?

I think the 17th of December was the offical release for Cygnus in kMS.

The level 100 skills for each class should be marked with an invisible flag here: http://www.southperry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=6366

Hm,I figured as much, though I wasn't 100% sure that the flags meant that.
What would the skills be for Night Walker's,and Strikers then?
