Funny how we're on opposite sides. I still like Phantom much, much more than Xenon but since I can just get Pirate gear I could at least get this one to level 150+ I suppose and the link skill is awesome.

Well, as a thief class, I just felt disappointed. I wanted it to be more like a Night Lord. Doesn't consume stars, doesn't have Shadow Partner, and the animations for skills look pretty weak.

It has Shadow Partner. And Night Lords aren't the only kinds of thieves.
I'm actually liking Xenon so far, and it's hard for me to look forward to any new classes, especially thieves. The way the stat build+pirate hybridness is very interesting, the gameplay looks awesome, and yes, while +%All Stat is harder to acquire than +%main stat, the whole 3 main stat thing could actually really help those who are unfunded. Event armors such as Tempest and Meso Ranger are going to help this class out tons. Then we get into Tyrant Equips+ Empress, the all stat pendants, and the 50% damage boost for taking advantage of this system?

Delicious.
I'm already preparing a basic Pirate set for mine but ooh, IGNs are frustrating. L > android (Not the phone) names! ...so it's confirmed that DEX adds exactly the same attack as LUK?
Anyone managed to elucidate the damage formula? None of the videos I've seen till now explicitly show the damage window on the character stats window, which is highly annoying. I'm not intending to watch a few hours of movies from Zelkova's stream just to get this figured out.

Xenon Review/Rant
Pros:
> Three stats means randomly picked up potential, options and + All Stat now have value
> Dual euips means more opportunity to get useful pomegranate
> With a three stat build, lots of stance, resistance and other pomegranate
> No cooldown versions of DB and BM skills
> pineappleIN' ROBOT NINJA PIRATE REBEL
> pineappleIN' ROBO KY ROBO SU
> Xenon can rock Vortex Infinitum as an awesome theme
Cons:
> No gameplay videos with Vortex Infinitum
> Xenon isn't Beryl
> The pineapple is the point of Purge Lob when you have unlimited HYPER SKILL dancing?
> ANOTHER pineappleING GODDAMN LIMITED TIME ONLY CLASS because that's what they do with all the named characters
> Might be nerfed to uselessness in 6 months, which will make it suck for 1 year after the nerf and it won't become a worthwhile investment of time and mesos for another 18 months
Half of Xenon's pros are the fact that he's a walking trope and an expy of a Guilty Gear character, only inversed because he's actually a "hero". The other half is his superior stat mechanic.
Still, I was really hoping for a scythe user class, and having a useless skill is bad. Being time limited also makes me sad.
But my biggest complaint with Lotus is the fact that Nexon will "rebalance" him like they do all new classes, even if that's something that could be said about all new classes. Until 6 months have passed, there's really no telling what the "final" version of Xenon will be. Because, unfortunately, Nexon uses KMST as a closed beta, and the actual game as an open one, instead of actually making sure they get it right prior to introducing the class. Which is why it's probably best to reserve one's excitement until we know for sure that Xenon won't wind up in a year long relevance limbo like Cannon Shooter or Demon Slayer. Or that it won't turn into a relatively underwhelming class like post-Hyper Luminous. Hopefully he'll remain competitive with the other classes. Especially Dual Blade.

No. I, as well as a few others, also wanted scythe girl to be Xenon. Even if we knew it wasn't true, a scythe user class would've been awesome. Instead, it's another sword class. Yay?
Theos had it right with their Anchor Scythe Pirate and Spear Lancer Warrior.
AzureKite Wrote:True, but no other thief classes use stars. More use physical blades. : /
That feeling when you're waiting for Eckhart, which which will probably have energy stars due to a secondary "soul star" equip.
So...do Bomb, Laser or Snipe have any use whatsoever? Or is Lob the 4th job dump skill?
Even after reading Max's blog post, I still can't find myself liking Xenon. I love the thief classes, but this class just does not seem at all like a thief besides for the massive avoid and Virtual Image.

Relevance limbo? I was stronger during my nerf stage than i was when cannoneer came out, and even if i wasn't those nerfs had literally no effect on the classes relevance. There were still multiple demon slayers at our empress runs, and they to date are one of VERY FEW classes with the kind of bind they have. Neither of those classes ever had a relevance limbo.
