In a mafia game I play, there's a role (the name escapes me at the moment)that has the ability "command" which it uses to command another user to vote as they wish. A similar role could be in this setup.

Could be something similar to that, but the pardon temporarily removes them from the game.

From that I take it you concur with y0shi that the clue wasn't about the killer then? Or do you mean that you were glad no lynching occured because you believe Synthesist to be a townie?

I think the clue was about the killer, but it doesn't point to Synthesist in my view (and no, I don't have any revelations, it's got me a bit stumped), and on top of that I wasn't convinced that a lynch today would be in our favor. Until the other mafia faction starts killing, it's in our best interest to try to retain an odd number of players.

Alright, might I enquire as to how your view the clue? Not requiring any answer as to who it might be about, but your intepretations couldn't hurt. As for the lynching part, I can see the reasoning, but I also feel that if Synthesist is mafia, then that was hardly to our advantage. However, there's little point in discussing that currently since he wasn't lynched, and so long as he's not killed tonight, we won't know for sure whether he's townie or mafia. Assuming he even can be killed since it's not clarified whether he's been kidnapped or just saved from lynch or something else as of yet. Anyway, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how tomorrow turns out I guess.

I'll share some thoughts when day comes. Hopefully we'll have another clue to work on then.
