[1.2.322] Moar Skill Balancing
First thoughts, haven't read thread yet:
Quote:
New Skill --> Ultimate Strafe

Passive skill (likely replaces Strafe). Maximum level is 10. Does 190% damage and fires 6 arrows. Requires maxed Strafe. This is a fourth job skill
I'm pretty sure MM's were doing alright with 1m/500k snipe, although maybe they weren't with BMs 200% Hurricane. The new Strafe does almost the same dps as Hurricane, before crits, and maybe shoots more arrows per second.
1652%/s for MM's, and 1667%/s for BMs, is what I get.

Quote:- Avenger's damage decreased to 410%.
- Triple Throw's damage decreased to 250%. Now can ignore 15% enemy physical defense rate.

Good that Avenger was nerfed, it was overpowered. TT too. Canceled out by the shadow partner buff though.

Quote: - Burst Fire's damage increased to 210%
- Aerial Strike's damage increased from 850% to 1150%
- Burst Fire's damage increased by +10% at all levels
- Cannon's damage increased by +20% at all levels. Now has a +15% innate chance to crit.
- Torpedo's damage increased by +50% at all levels.
- Counter Attack's 40 WATK buff removed. Now increases damage by 15% (damR)
=D nice buffs.

Once everyone gets used to their shiny new upgrades, imbalances will once again become obvious. They're cool until they become the norm basically.

But you've never PLAYED a DoT class, so you really don't get how useless of a statement that is. If I were to have DoT with Paralyze now, when I can 3hko Skeles STRIPPED, mind you, I would probably get a lovely 2000 DoT damage dealt before the 3rd Paralyze would hit, killing the mob.

It's not a "slight" bonus. It's a NEGLIGIBLE bonus.

Wasn't it 6% per orb last patch? So wouldn't that be a decrease instead?

But the problem is you're taking DoT in this new environment and applying it to the old one.

The hell is the point of changing the describing term? The point is that it's a bonus/buff, and if anything you should welcome it regardless of how much it actually changes things.

stupid nexon, stupid nexon, stupid nexon, stupid nexon, hurry up and buff DrK so that we will on par with the other warrior class in term of DPS!!! Mad

How can you guys argue the worth of DoT when you don't know how it's calculated in the new version? It's like griping about a piece of pie you've never eaten and saying "This new apple pie sucks because the old one sucked". Try the new apple pie or at least get some calculations about how it differs from the old one before speculation.

Shads too. <_<

How could you forget us? D=

We, like, totally had it before this revamp.

Their are two differ types of combos. The last update was 5% advance combo. Now advance combo is 10% and regular combo is now at 5%

Also mad about braveslash getting nerfed.. But FINALLY ENRAGE is useful plus no cooldown i'm happy for that

Quote:Enrage completely changed. Now it works like Homing. You use the skill to target one enemy, and all damage toward that enemy is increased by 50% (or 1.5x - it's not clear which). The cooldown is removed.

The only one who's saying anything about damage is dan though, lol. I'm just saying it's a boost regardless of how much it now does. :/

It was 4% last patch. I thought it was 6% because I'm used to combo being level 30 when now it's level 20.

Yea.... DrK need some love. Making Berzerk not a pain to use wasn't enough. :/

Although they do get a bunch of critical. Being the monstrous tanks that they are, stun isn't really needed. No warrior really needs it, to be honest. Ranged classes get the most use. See: Hawk/Eagle use at Newties

Heroes are still pretty sick with the +10% orb stack and enrage if it's really 50% post damage boost, despite having to revert using brandish. Does anyone know how vengeance work? Because that's the only thing that might make bowmasters not fall on the bottom of classes. Right now it looks like old 3rd job in the past, there's no point in making a bowmaster since marksman shines in both 3rd and 4th jobs once again. Granted, marksmen needed the boost long ago but completely eradicating bowmasters is so sad. I wonder what is the process and criteria of tweaking skills, do staff there actually test the skills or just beta testers submit feedback? I hope they extend the testing because it's nowhere near 'perfection' or equilibrium in my opinion.

Do I get a green box for pointing that out? :F3:

@Paul and Sylv: Show me DoT can affect bosses now and I'm all for understanding the new system.

crap~!

i knew it, guess we all knew it that nexon wldnt be nice to shadowers, nerfing our assasinate when we were looking forward to the 610% assasinate.
and nerf-ing a few of our other skills.
y decrease shadower shift >_<

DB's buff is way too imba.

juz when shadowers seemingly hav a chance to stand up against DB, they nerf shadowers & buffed DB in a nvr-seen-b4 extreme manner.

nexon perfected the formula to screw shadowers. hahaha.

Yeah, I'm not saying I need the stun or the damage boost, although a boost would be nice nonetheless; the 30% crit chance, I believe, will be significant in our damage output as well as stability. I'm just a bit sad that I was proven wrong where blood build might be the appropriate way to go, when apparently now I've just realized that I had pineappleed my own ass without lube and it's going to hurt soon.

I'm starting to think that this isn't a rebalanced MapleStory but rather a mirrored alternative world, where every value is reversed except for mules, hb included.

Yeah, I agree. Assassinate is quickly going to find itself no longer a priority.

But for the most part we're still strong as hell. Our three main attack skills (SB, BoT, and BS) all got buffed, and in the case of BS that got a large boost. Calm down.

Well..maybe BMs getting another new skill for next rebalance, who knows?
maybe an ultimate which deals 2100% damage with 10 seconds CD
or maybe the hurricane change to mob skill which hit up to 3 monster at once D:
everything are still too early to judge on D:
