Being a Microsoft supporter myself I can say that I was pretty disappointed with their lineup of games this year, but not at all with Natal/Kinect. It's a gigantic technological step forward in the gaming industry and to lump it into the "HURR JUMP AROUND LIKE A MONKEY" category just like that is pretty unfair. Natal is not only the most advanced out of the three motion control contenders, but also has the most potential. I can foresee many games being partially motion-controlled while the majority of the game is played with the controller, similar to how the Nintendo DS has all of the action on the top screen and every now and then you'll use the touch screen to make things easier. There's so much that can be done, and this generation of consoles isn't going to be ending any time soon. I'm pretty excited.

With that being said, glad to see that Nintendo assf(ucked every other conference as expected. I'm really not looking forward to the new Zelda, though. I'm getting annoyed at the entire series. It looks stupid.

How is this that much different than Smash? If your opponent pulls "X" move, you try to avoid it or counter that with something that's either faster, has longer reach, or has higher priority. Want a more literal example? Fox Reflector.

Khoi just can't handle a real fighting game that doesn't require you to glitch your way to victory. :p

Natal/kinect is a huge jump forward? Not for gaming it isn't. I won't question the amazing uses it has outside of gaming , but for gaming? They seriously need a controller with the most important thing, i.e. buttons.

Well girlfriend,i'm sorry, but that press conference showed microsofts intentions for kinect, and they spelt out only one thing. "we want a share of nintendos casual market". At least the wii launched with twilight princess. Kinect gets a couple of wii game knock offs and we're supposed to be impressed?

When the Wii was released, was it released with nothing but family crap? It doesn't help that they faked some of the material they showed anyway. This isn't exciting to me yet. I'll wait for them to actually do something good with it.

Stop Moefying everything Japan! At least gimme someone older for 3DS so I won't feel guilty staring at a OS-tan.

I kinda agree with ston insofar that the motion controlled thing minus the controller is a great idea, but it just has too many ways to f'uck up i can see. say you trip and fall, breaking your arm on the land? some american will blame their fall on M$ and try to sue them for it. =/

The whole point of tech demos is to show off the technology, and I was definitely impressed; there's really no reason not to be. I'm not a fan of the casual Wii knock-offs either, but to assume that Kinect will only appeal to casual audiences and nobody else is silly.

Kinect is stupid.

Now you'll not only look like a dumbass flailing your arms with a controller, you'll look like a dumbass flailing your arms entirely by yourself -- it'll only cost you a $300 motion set, FOR ONE!

What kind of "potential" does it have? Play platformer games by jumping and running, YOURSELF! Play FPS games by pointing your finger and saying BANG!

I don't even understand how PARTIAL motion control is a technological advancement. Controller/motion controlled game, the Wii does that in itself and all it does is complicate sh'it.

I don't care how much more advanced its technological specifications are, it has no more potential than any other sh'itty motion sensor controlled video game.

I saw the trailers for the new Donkey Kong Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, The Legend of Zelda: The Skyward Sword, and Goldeneye 007 last night on the Nintendo channel and I almost shat my pants. They all look fantastic, and I'll be dropping $50 on each one when they're released.

Shadow sparing is NOT awesome. I had to do it for years in Tae Kwon Do and it's the worst thing ever when it comes to fighting. Physical contact is the only way you'll actually have any sort of fun and not end up hurting some part of your body because you kicked too far in a certain direction, or punched air and ended up locking your elbow, causing hyperextension. It's not fun in the least bit. I'd rather stick to button mashing for fighting video games and punching real people for real, physical fighting.

It's public knowledge that miyamoto plays everything at every E3 when it comes to hardware. Dude doesn't care if its from microsoft or sony, and he normally gets VIP treatment for looking at any new technology too.
