Huh, Steel-type losing resistances was a big surprise. Still has the superior Dragon-resist, but it's definitely less viable now (poor Jirachi will lose to more Ghosts and Dark-types).

It is a bit weird, though steel did have ridiculous defense coverage. As long as they fix it by actually making the type capable of offense (outside of scizor/metagross), it'll be ok.

I like the speculation that the stick in Fennekin's evo's tail will turn into a broom and that it will be a witch theme.

Also Fighting is SE on 5 types but also resisted by 4 (Bug, Poison, Flying, Psychic) and can't damage Ghost-types. Seemed superfluous to nerf it but whatever, I guess I'll gust retire my Conkeldurr.

Also tfw Pangoro is 4x weak to fairy. ;~;

Honestly though, the new type chart and the new type means that at least Dark types are going to be looked at, and finally getting that elusive gym, since I think it's fairly obvious that Fairy will get one.

Here's hoping this generation gives us a Dark gym and a Poison legendary!

People always talking and complaining about the whole Fire/Fighting starter deal, I, all by my lonesome I guess was hoping for once we would have a fire starter that wouldn't end up 2-legged.

I just hope Chespin's final evolution isn't as weird as its second. If it stays ugly, I'm going to have a difficult time trying to decide between Fennekin and Froakie.

all the fire starters have ended up two legged though, they just... always looked cool (charizard, thyplosion, blaz and infernape at least) so i don't mind it being bipedal.

am i the only one here that likes mewtwo's design? slick body with huge arms is one of my favorite designs since ever.

CoroCoro has started leaking today and one of the biggest things to come form it is the new type chart! Fairy-type has been revealed to be Super Effective on Fighting, Dark and Dragon and not effective on Fire, Poison or Steel, weak to Poison and Steel resisting Fighting, Dark and Bug, and immune to Dragon.

In addition, it has been reported that Steel is no longer resistant to Dark or Ghost! How do you think this will effect next gen?

So instead of teams being 3 Steel and 3 Dragon + weather teams they're going to be

2 Steel 2 Dragon 2 Fairy or Weather.

I actually think it looks pretty cool... apart from the legs. It looks so bulky and impressive, but then has stupid tentacle tiptoe feet. it's weird.

If it kept it's feet the same as original Mewtwo's it would have looked really cool.

Then again, it's only the artwork. who knows how it will look in game. I'm getting X version regardless, So i'm glad we got the better Mewtwo design.

I have always chose Fire but I guess I'll end up with Froakie if Chespin is too much to handle.

Starter Evolutions: Chespin just makes me think of Pignite. Fennekin is okay-ish, although I think it could've been better. It looks too feminine for me. Froakie is the winner for the 1st evolution. Hoping Fennekin will be better for its final evolution.

My starter choices before:
X: Chespin | Squirtle | Torchic
Y (Main Version): Fennekin | Charmander | Torchic

Currently:
X: Fennekin | Squirtle | Torchic
Y: Froakie | Charmander | Torchic

or

X: Froakie | Squirtle | Torchic
Y: Fennekin | Charmander | Torchic

Either way, set on Fennekin and Froakie.

New Pokémon: Absolutely no complaints here, I love them all, especially the fossil pokemon.
Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Garchomp: I like how Mega Mewtwo has two forms based on which version. I think it means mega stone I'd assume. With me getting both, I should be able to get both Mega Evolutions of Mewtwo. Mega Garchomp is pretty cool.
Type Chart: I like the strengths/weaknesses to Fairy, plus I like that Steel lost its Dark/Ghost resistance.
