His range its 475, so its ranged, it must be less of 200 to be considered melee.

Thresh looks cool, his kit its pretty amazing, but the whole passive business drives me away since it means no Armor/Res per level for you, making it specially important for you (Or your carry if you support with him) to farm pretty well and actually get the souls from it. Compared with other champs you gain the "Standard" amount of armor/res than other champs at level 18 with about 80 to 110 souls (52 to 62 extra stats).
Would not really buy until i have first hand experience with him with the free week.

He's got a lot of overall potential. Though he'll have to heavily rely on his teammates/communication to pull off incredible stunts.
Q Chain > Lantern > Q Hookshot > Box > Ally Skarner take Lantern to go towards you in the middle of the brawl > Skarner Impale and drag through all the walls, etc.

That would be nice if it were right, but it's not. Melee/ranged isn't determined by an attack range. I think it was Statikk or Xypherous who said back when they revealed Hurricane and Tiamat that ranged/melee was determined by a tag on the champion in the coding.

Wouldn't be surprised if it could be narrowed to specific attacks as well, though Gangplank has me convinced that this is not currently in effect (Parrrley can work with Hydra)

I never said that's how it was decided, all I said is that the highest "melee" attack range is 300.

Something weird was the deal with her attacks, I can't remember what it was. I think it was that she was still technically melee with E active or something like that.

MasPan Wrote:[COLOR="#cc8899"]So many advanced plays possible. Lantern only lasts 6 seconds. So maybe on Dominion. Actually, afaik Skarner can't dash or blink at all with ult active, so I don't think he can. And Blitz probably can't either. The pull pulls towards where Blitz pulled from, not to where he is. That's why two Blitzes that hook each other switch places.

MasPan Wrote:[COLOR="#cc8899"]Hmm...there's got to be a way. Teleport should work for sure if not Recall. I think there probably isn't a way. And that's likely intentional since being able to pull someone into your fountain is a mechanic that leans towards the broken end of the balance spectrum.

I don't think Skarner would be able to pull all the way to the fountain, but a good distance, yes.
The biggest problem here is that it would all have to be timed perfectly. Thresh would have to toss out a lantern near the enemy team and start to Teleport almost immediately, Skarner would have to time impaling an enemy and then triggering the lantern as soon Thresh's Teleport is complete.

Loose Wrote:I don't think Skarner would be able to pull all the way to the fountain, but a good distance, yes. I just don't think Skarner will be able to activate the lantern while he has someone in his ult. And if he can, it will likely be fixed because being able to pull someone into your fountain is something that Riot generally doesn't allow.

I get that, Raul. Truly. It's just fun to think of ways to try and it works pretty well as an exercise in understanding the limitations of the lantern mechanic.

If I were Riot, I'd leave it. To be able to execute something like that, I'd leave the high reward.
And that would truly be part of the meta-game, the actual definition of meta-game, not what LoL players define meta-game as. |
