There's a pretty interesting blog post talking about how Descends have moved from a tank team / 2/4/2 / Orb Enhance team to combo teams. Aka they want people to stop just pressing a skill and win (like Ronia/Lucifer), and have more strategy in making combos (which seems to be what spike teams are all about). Dude's explaining why certain dungeons are more insidious, how they're unable to be facerolled by your average Lucifer / 2/4/2 teams / %-HP teams, and what amount of damage/healing you need to take on the Descends.

The tl;dr of what to take from the blog:

"1. New mechanisms will be introduced from time to time. If you think they just annoy you then your team is good. If you can think up of a mechanism that specially kills your team, you should start prepare a new team, now.

2. Team that faceroll by pressing skill will be harshly blocked. If you still plan to roll that Hanzo for DMeta just for descend, prepare to get locked 3 out of 4 descend because apparently YamaP doesn't like this.

3. RCV > ATK
3a. HP is also important, as a buffer to heart orb trolling, and in extreme case, soak one hit during enrage

4. Learn to combo, seriously. You can't rely on 3 row to kill everything forever because of the combo shield.

5. Can I do X descend? Just ask yourself if you can pull up 5k heal consistently for a few turns without skill. 10k heal for Mythical."

Hmm, seems to me the metagame shifted from 2/4/2 & tank teams--> combo gods--> the current trend that is row enhance + King slime teams.

Wait, so is Ronia an example of the row enhance + King Slime combo? Isn't her team essentially "skill-to-win"? Also, do spike teams (Horus/Kirin/Ra/DQXQ) in your eyes fall under "combo gods"?

Yeah, I see combo gods=spike teams.

Combo gods- Horus, Ra, Bastet, Okuninushi, Kushinada, Sakuya, Da Qiao Xiao Qiao.
These guys don't do nearly as much damage as row enhance teams if they are not given King slime support.

Row enhance teams + King slime teams- The Sonias, the Hero gods, basically just stacking row enhance till you have 4+. It's just that the Sonias make row bursts stupidly easy with their active and if you can make two rows of an element with a King slime boost up AND orb enhance, that boss just exploded into itty-bitty pieces.

I don't see Red Sonia as too much "skill-to-win". Her best team is filled with all REM subs since there's not really much non-REM option for row enhances.

My Super Rubies was spectacular, got 11 Super Kings in ~7 runs.

Got my Red Sonia from 47-->70, Misato from 14-->52, and Phoenix from 1-->50.

Managed to max my enchidna, but oh my god that gold keeper wrecked me, I tried with Kirin and was doing well, but the 25x multi still wasn't enough to even leave a dent, so I ended up eating the stamina. I went in with Pandora, and just wrecked sh`it. I was literally 4 hp from the Pre empt strike threshold lmao

I finished the stage of Ocean of Heaven. The true farming can soon begin once I get some more green EXP for my Chu team for rank EXP, light/water EXP, and +eggs. Progressing a lot further than I thought for someone who played but ~40+ days compared to my other friends who played ~2-3 months before me. It's still a wonder at how I managed to get a viable Kirin team from my 1st Godfest, the exact team I need for true late game. She's pretty much my main waifu for wrecking everything.

I digress it's entire purpose is entirely different, from my understanding it's more about flow of skills while PAD is more about solving the board to get the best possible combinations.

This weekend is a whole lot of goodies if you can do them.

Hera today, Tengu tomorrow, Zeus on Saturday, and Izanami on Sunday. I'm going to stone the hell out of Izanami so hard because I really want her as my blue sub. Tengu I'm desperately trying to get a Naga drop because I didn't think I'd find a use for a Naga until I found out I have the perfect team comp for an Asuka team to take him down IF I JUST HAD A NAGA. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh this dumb Naga farming. Almost would rather roll the REM in hopes of getting her than keep farming and ending up empty handed (although all the ranks I'm gaining isn't too bad).

0-stoned Hera. Is it weird that I found the trash to be more dangerous than the bosses? The moment I got to Neptune it got way too easy.

Holy crap, I finally fully awakened my kirin, and that 1 second extra movement just makes me hit that 25x every single flippin time. Not to mention I have Apollo for heavy light damage, and parvarti to save my skin. Blue odin gives me massive skill up's and I'm just wreck sh`it.

Tengu on Legend was my 2nd worst mistake ever, right after Zeus Dios. That 40% drop rate made me lose my patience and just manmode Legend. I lacked the HP to tank 2 hits from Tengu by JUST a couple hundred HP. Around 7-8 stones lost just for that.

Got 2 Tengus though, which will be all I need to begin making the Cu Chu Ocean of Heaven farm team.
