If I remember correctly, the summer(?) of 2007 was when Maple's management was transferred from Wizet to Nexon. During that transition phase, the original Demi was made public and like today, people were killing stuff all over the map and legits were begging for leech from said hackers/script kiddies. The whole thing lasted for just about the whole summer. Good times.

It's when NxGames officially became Nexon America, and made the move to their current headquarters, and basically everyone and their mothers started hacking.

On a side note, I didn't think so many people on Southperry believed Wizet ran GMS. I thought that was a Basil thing, since I've never seen anyone provide any proof for either side regarding the matter. I'm pretty sure Nexon already owned MapleStory for about half a year before GMS was even made, no? If anyone would care to enlighten me with the general consensus, it would be much appreciated.

O.T. I honestly don't care how long they shut the game off for... stuff like this is just wrong. Even if it hurts Nexon from a business standpoint, they should still address it in the name of morality if nothing else...

They basically just changed logo... People speaking of the days when Wizet ran the game are braindead, it was the same crew.

Let it be clear that Nexon is a publisher and Wizet is a developer.

While that's aside, the GM teams have changed a lot CarrionCrow. I assumed you knew this since I figured you've been playing for so long. GMs such as Kremechoco, PatisserieMK, or hell even GMDiddy don't exist anymore and are long gone.

Of course the personel change, I ment as an organization. The difference from the day where Wizet left off and the first weeks of Nexon is minuscule.

Wizet has always owned maplestory, Nexon simply publishes it, the problem is when Nexon became the parent company Wizet "group" lost majority of it's authority. Wizet originally released maplestory as an experiment with how western culture was going to react to it.

Though to compare wizets mere year with less than 100 players to what the game is now, well it's rather steep. Their business practice was fair but no one can actually say how much of the cashshop was influenced by them, although their original policy is that the CS would not have game altering changes. The release of gachapon not only contradicted that, but is a pretty good prediction of when Nexon's policy's took effect.

On Topic;

The games done. They havent even closed it, obviously their message is clear.

GMs back then actually talked to me and I actually saw them and conversed with me. They actually banned hackers too and were kind of smart-assy about it. It's wrong to say it hasn't changed at all since the original team died out. People are different, the new GMs are lazy and retarded while the old ones weren't as much.

I don't get that same experience anymore.

I said nothing of the sort. I am well aware of the change in policy over time and how they used to deal with hackers, I'm just saying that it was not the fabled Nexon takeover that changed everything from diamonds to pomegranate.

EDIT: on a more lolworthy note. -Hime- answered a question on the official forum about world transfers, but proceeds to ignore the general section.

I think it's a policy issue rather than simply lazy workers, but that's just my opinion lol

No doubt at all. Lazy workers would get the boot unless encouraged by the management to be this sucky.

For anyone saying they can easily remove them, they could have easily removed the hacked ST/craven/nisrocks too, but did they?

Rollback.

Because they're MTSed/bartered for with NX on a daily basis which makes them money. Lack of action doesn't correlate to lack of ability.

I haven't been playing MS for a year now, but seeing this....GG.

255 Stat equips are beyond useless right now because of the damage cap set at 999,999.
I'm sure these are easier to track, but knowing how nexon let 301's slide by, I have a strong feeling that they will not be doing anything about these.

And you don't think these will be? (The tradeable ones)

I didn't deny they would be MTSed. I didn't guarantee they would all be flushed from the database either.

The hackers wouldn't make the items if it didn't mean USD for them. Nexon would delete them if it didn't mean USD for them, too.

Unfortunately for shadowers and Dual Bladers, SFC made 255 Kataras/Daggers so x_x
