Given that bosses are leaning towards multi-targets more heavily (i.e. Empress), I would say the Cannon Shooter has the advantage there. Cannon Buster with Booster, their best single target DPS (and amazing 3 mob DPS) is just as fast as Normal (6) Warriors with Booster.
They definitely have the advantage in training.

I think that's because for Paladin's, it's TECHNICALLY a buff. For this class it seems to be permanent. For Paladins, if you remove your shield the buff is lost, but for CS there's no way to remove the buff once you've gotten it. That's why it's Red with the Total (Base + Buff) number for Paladins but not for Cannon Shooters.

I don't see how DBs are great 1v1 prior to Chaos. CoH is so dlckin slow and has so many issues with Dark Sight and the like (thank you, advanced dark sight, for fucking up CoH) it slows them down a great deal.
Yes, DBs get that fixed with Chaos, but what's to say there won't be a chaos patch for this class either?

I'm saying if you get struck when you're vulnerable and the boss does more damage than you have HP, you're f'ucked, where as this new class won't be, as a ranged character because it has more HP and defense.
Let's say you have 10,000 HP.
The boss does 11,000 damage.
The Cannon Shooter has 12,000 HP.
You die.
Cannon Shooter lives.
The ranged character wins by tanking, where as the close-up, melee class is screwed.
Also, quit f[b]ucking calling everyone and everything retarded[/b]. I do believe there's a new step-up in the whole insult thing in the rules, so you're taking things a bit far and are going to get a stick in your ass if you don't watch out.

Ok. When does that ever happen? How many bosses seriously do that much damage without you being on top of them (which is stupid considering demos range)? Anything outside of empress won't do that and she herself probably won't because...we have invincibility. I ignored this point because it is also wrong. I don't know how godly you think you are, but as far as I've experience, which is from bossing almost every day, Demolition leaves me open to attacks around 40% of the time. I take hits all of the time when using Demolition. It's definitely not a 95% invulnerability rate like you seem to think it is.

Ok, so even if this were to be a Gaiden class, it's impossible to say it's the pirate's version of Dual Blades? With that logic, we shouldn't be able to say that Wild Hunters are the archer's version of Mechs, or to take it a step further, that Dawn Warriors aren't the Warrior's version of Wind Archers.

While I do agree with everything you just said, I think it does "sort of" make sense for the cannoneers to have more health than a traditional ranged class. They'd have to be REALLY physically fit to lug that massive cannon around, so their stamina is probably on par with that of a Warrior; however, that's not to say I don't think Vipers need to get some more defense and hp (and damage, but that's an entirely different argument).

And thus I start to see people already complainig how this job is aimed for training/mobbing and not bossing. People wants balance, but when balance is giiven through mking the job excell in one area and not so much in another one, "it su'cks". If its given by making the job good in both areas "its overpowered", and if the damage is lowered to be on par with other jobs and keep being good in both areas, "they are like like all other jobs".
BTW, it makes sense that they are slow. Try to fight like a Ninja while carrying a bazooka on your shoulder (See why Soi Fong hates her Bankai).
