I got in to the point where it asks you to make a new PIC, and my character was not wearing what i logged off with this morning T______T

Of course it rolled back if they lost power, it's not like they save the database every 15 seconds.

But how often do they? I will be losing some serious stuff that I makered and cubed if they rollback like 6-7 hours.

If they rolled back, I'm gonna feel sorry for my alliance member who got his belt to unique this morning...

On a more serious note, they said they're doing database maintenance. If anything, I'm sure the data-loss damage would be mitigated to a degree. Then again, this is Nexon we're talking about.

Being on Emergency power is not good. When they switch back to regular power there will probably be an interruption in power that causes a crash. GG

Dammit. After it asked my pin again I reset it through the Nexon site, then I could get to the Character screen and I would ask for a new PIC, but no matter what i entered itt failedd for "an unknown reason". I hope resetting my PIN and PIC doesn't screw over my char

I know there wasn't now>.> I was just saying I know theres earthquakes everyday but the power outage could have been caused by a BIG one IF there was one.

Assuming the worst will only make people panic more. Why not wait until we have an official word out before coming to unnecessary conclusions of rollbacks, hackings, permanent loss of information, etc.? ;P

My thoughts on how often Nexon saves/updates their databases are probably anywhere from every six to eight hours. That's just my guess though.[/COLOR]

At approximately 9:00am Pacific, all game servers and websites web down for 2 hours due to a technical problem at our IDC. This issue have been resolved and all services are being recovered.

In the event they really do lose the data from this morning, I really hope it isn't all the data from 12:00 am, because I just got jaira last night!

Normal databases flush (force write) every completed transaction to permanent storage. Obviously I have no idea how Nexon configured their database, they might be saving I/O time by buffering several transactions at at time, but they have to be outright absurd if they "roll back" more than a second due to power out.
Note that "saving the database" in this case doesn't require exporting it (i.e., exporting the whole thing to a safe copy).

Personally I'd kind of like it if they roll back about 10 minutes. Would give me back 6 wasted cubes and a semi-useful Executioner (it had 6% str and 12 w.att before I starting tossing those cubes at it). But, I don't hold any high hopes of that happening.
