Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion
Takebacker Wrote:How incredibly f'ucking unlikely that would be considering one of their biggest news periods of the entire year is in june. Nope, there's no possible way we'll learn anything in an entire month.

Thank God that's cleared up, now I don't have to get my hopes up.

players will have to adjust to the new physics engine anyway, so anything coming from input lag is just another adaptation for the new game/new system.
the complains before were wired vs wireless on already existing gamecube (wavebird), or the options wii nunchuck gave.

for a new game on a new system, input lag shouldnt be a concern, if all players have the same lag; i.e. everybody wireless

Takebacker Wrote:No clue. Any number of things can happen. People develop a wired controller, people all get used to input lag and just deal with it, or it just flops as a game. Anything can happen.

You know, as much as I want a wired controller myself, it just simply is not ever going to happen. Where would they even plug into? The USB ports? That's hardly practical or intuitive. There are no controller ports. It's not going to happen. I think the gamecube fanboys need to just move on with their lives. Brawl did just fine with wireless, this game will too. Or if it really bugs players THAT damn much, just play on the 3DS hardware itself.

now its really a debate on what will cause more input lag, a 3rd party wireless controller connected to a official wiimote(using official nintendo sensor) or if they decided to use their own sensor entirely

As a reminder, this is what happened when those same people made a wiimote.

There are already 3 different traditional Controllers (Classic controller, classic controller Pro, Wii U pro controller) or just getting that mayfly adapter for an actual GC controller if you really have to still be stuck, what, 12 years in the past?

USB controllers almost certainly aren't going to happen: If they were, they would have already, as the Wii U pro controller already comes with a USB cable, but it's only used for charging and nothing else.

Oh my god please be the same way on the Wii U.

edit: The ability to not have to be the same color, that is.

NFC figures being used for some capacity in Smash wii u, or so it has been said.

More info in a few weeks, but everyone knew that already. Biggrin The 9th of June can't come soon enough!

Another problem with wireless controllers is lan events. Syncing controllers and moving around multiple wiis seems like a nightmare.

Also the mirroring is more stylistic with fighting games. I believe other 3D fighters choose to mirror the models because it's the best way to be expressive with characters and show their features. Without it, you'll have things like Marth's back/cape covering his entire model or Kirby having to rotate/bounce toward the camera every now and then to show his face.

Also the team colors seem pretty cool but it looks like it's 3DS only because those outlines would look atrocious in an beautiful HD game.

...Why do you think any of that is necessary? You do realize you're breaking the rules because you simply feel something as juvenile as being emasculated. That sh`it may fly on the maple forums but it wont here.

OT Pretty excited for this generation, I really want to give mac a run the most though.

It's the day before E3 starts, which I think is when the companies do their little video teasers.

I'm pretty sure I made an on-topic comment and he flipped out on me for no reason. I don't know why you're quoting me.

To stay on topic... there's no mention of an online 2v2 mode yet?

Yep.
I also thought that was the date that Nintendo was doing the video stream, but I was mistaken. That is on the 10th.

I hope not. We certainly don't need every popular franchise to scam us like Skylanders.

I have no issues with the NFC figures being part of SSB4. Calling it a scam is way too big of a stretch at the moment. You barely even have information to make an informed decision. For all we know it could have no collective effects or game play effects. In fact, it might not even be true.

At least the figures will have more resell and sentimental value than that of the Skylanders and maybe Infinity. (And I'm not saying this because I have some Skylander figurines).

I for one would enjoy collectable nintendo figurines.

I have no problem with collectible figurines. I have a problem with them affecting games.

Fair enough. You're right, I don't have much information. I suppose I'm just pessimistic in that regard.
