KMST 1.2.478 - Warrior and Mage Skill Changes
I expected vertical movement skills as beginner skills or something for some reason, the hooks that Nova classes have or the huge teleport ranges from new classes are really useful.

I'm wondering what happens with the new angel ray + zombify.

OH JESUS CHRIST, FINALLY. PARTY DEFENSE SKILLS.

Also, Paladin's Expertise gives different special bonuses to Swords (Increased Critical Damage) and Blunt Weapons (Increased Defense Ignore). I like.

It seems like losing some self defense bonuses were offset by having buffed abilities to just flat out Guard all damage.

The new Elemental Charge 2nd Job skill reminds me of Elemental Chain from DNF, which makes me happy.

I definitely like what I see when it comes to i/L's.
Though there's definitely an ice advantage.
As much as I like ice, I think there should be a balance between both ice and lightning.

Now do the same for Battle Mages instead of ruining them, kay KMS? ^^

ChosenFruit Wrote:Sad to see the Battle Mage changes un-done in Tespia =/
I'm extremely happy about that.
The skills given to the BaMs were definitely meant for another class, or the BW revamp (the fists).
It did not look like a BaM anymore. I wasn't impressed with the removal of Unification Aura and how they changed our hyper.

NEW Paladin Expert - Passive skill: Increases Mastery by 20%, Min Critical Damage by 15%, Swords increases critical damage by 10%, Blunts increase Defense Ignored by 5%. (Neato!)

Wow blunt weapons are even more useless now.
How is 5% ignore def fair compared to 10% crit damage?

And I seriously HATE how blast looks.
It's really freaking ugly... attack reminds me of that slice attack from tabuu in SSBB.

Blast now hits 6 monsters instead of 1, so obviously their animation would get bigger. I agree it looks ugly for some reason though.

Because they changed how Defense Ignore works not too long ago.

I dont get what our other mob skills are for then.
I liked it hitting one mob with way more damage..

Man i'm not liking anything from this so far. I'm complaining a lot but I was pretty set on paladins with how they are right now. :l

Baklava;

Wouldn't that make it even worse?
I guess i'm not sure how it works now.

Too bad 5% means pomegranate in the long run.

"the long run" is the most misguided thing ever if you're implying what I think you are.
and by that I mean when people base arguments off the idea of everyone doing max damage all the time anyway.

FROZEN ORB! Miss the Diablo II days. Looks like we know where Nexon got their inspiration from.

Talking about how negligent 5% actually is.
Mobs with 50% PDR only lose 2.5% PDR from that. Bosses with like 150+% PDR only lose 7.5+% PDR.
Hell, Chaos Vellum's 300% PDR is reduced by a measely 15%.

When you can obtain 30-40% PDR Ignore on weapon potential on multiple lines. 5% is miniscule.

Sorry but Blunt weapons suck period compared to swords in maplestory and in real life. It would be a waste of time and resources to make 2nd all new animations for an inferior weapon. They should just make all Blunt weapons limited to Demon slayers only lol!

Also the new Blast looks freaking amazing! I bet you would have loved it if it was a blunt weapon instead. I just hope that they are still going to add a different blast animation for each element and that is only just the fire blast animation.

Now that max updated his blog we can actually see how paladin skills work.

More observation while waiting for some final confirmations on skills:
  • The patch notes say the "Magician's attack formula has been changed," to what (rhetorical, for now)?
  • Mages now have 95% Mastery due to Firequines/Ifrit
  • Most I/L should be hitting criticals 100% of the time for CL (5% base + 30% Arcane Overdrive + 15% Phantom LS + 25% I/L Series Skill + 25% CL). Maybe that's why its weaker and apparently slower than Paralyze.
  • Given the way Ignore MDR works the new 3rd Job skill might be okay, I can't quite read it, but
20%->Stacking->100% to ignore 5%->Stacking->25% MDR wouldn't be too bad, not great, not a waste of points.
  • If the 4th Job Orbs skill works like JoeTang says it does...LAME.
  • FA's are interesting, this one seems slow.
  • Give the Bind skill some damage, please! Or allow it to escape OHKOs or something, such a waste of a skill for the Novan Mage.
  • Not sure what the 3rd Job shield skill does, but a 20% Status Resistance is better if not lackluster for 0% F/P and brings I/L with Ice Aura to 40% base + other sources.
  • Thunderstorm summon is still questionable based on its attack speed, the same goes for all summons, speed the attack up.

But isn't that what the change was? Almost certain it was how defense ignore on weapons works differently compared to defense ignore from skills.

I already cap crits on blast, so this sucks for me.
But honestly, nothing is bothering me more than my loss in mastery.

If i wasn't obsessed with a nameless sword, i would pick a blunt weapon over a sword any day. At least blunt weapons had more room for detail. They could have a lot more going for them if it wasn't nexon we were dealing with.
Also dont peach about swords being better in real life. That hurts my brain. Blunt weapons are not always slow and can easily do more damage than a simple sword.

Looks like Beholder now heals 20 percent HP now... in second job.

Does Reincarnation have the same passive effect as Berserk?
If it does, Dark Knights have +45% minimum critical damage now.
Seems completely redundant unless they changed how critical damage works.

It doesn't seem that bad, I mean, 91% vs 94% (on its own) is like, a 1.6% decrease in damage.
