Got accepted to Nexon focus group 2/21 <-- Note This Is In The Past
The screens were probably blanked as a precautionary measure/security measure specifically because of your presence.

Now I'm really interested in paying their Tokyo HQ a visit - I meant to last weekend but work has been monopolozing my time atm.

Ridiculous, these are 17-21 year olds and they can't even put together simple fragments of important information? This was a great oppurtunityt o bring attention to a lot of things and it was thrown away for dumb ass immature nut shots.

The only thing they got right was mentioning the bosses and botters, but who really cares about that(specific botters) when duping/enhance hacks are still lingering around >_>; lol

Were you really expecting this to go well? It's not entirely nexon's fault, the community is also to blame, albeit to a lesser extent.

Indeed. Look at how many times in that quote that mercedes talks about having thought something, indicating that they didn't actually say it. If s/he had opened their mouth, as they do seem slightly more knowledgeable than the others, then tiny others things might've been effected. Instead the sat their silently, probably grinning.

Hipsters, sheesh.

I don't know about you guys, but if i was asked a load of questions like that by people who clearly know nothing about the game i would feel really uncomfortable and embarrassed. If they had someone asking the questions who actually knew what the terms meant then the conversation would be a hell of a lot smoother, and they would get more information.

Saying that the people there didn't speak up may be true or it may not be, they weren't really given an opening, anything specific they would have said would have gone right over the heads of the interviewers.

- dupe
- SSS meso exploit
- 301 cravens, ST, nisrocks

It was all mentioned. Then it was promptly put on a sticky note on the poster board.

The "Super Monkeys" were present and the girl and boy monkeys were taking notes. Whether or not 8/10 understood, it's important to get it out there.

This is now my opinion of nexon

"They know what's going on but aren't doing anything about it

or

They sort of know what's going on and don't realize how severe it is. What they're doing now is "enough" for the survival of the game"

The 7 people knew about the problems of the game. They said the problems. The 2 people just wrote it down (along with the 8~ observers) but didn't give a response to said problems.

Of course they're aware of what's going on - it was even a part of their financial statement for 2011. They even had the audacity to claim that they provided a rapid response to the security problems as of late.

I feel like we're so desperate to have the game get back on track, or at least semi-back on track, that statements like these are generated...

Having it brought up in a focus group discussion and having it implemented in the game to prevent the issues from happening as often as they do are two different things.

I do agree that it's good they were brought up, but I think we all need to stop having this notion that it's enough and be 10 times harsher than we have been already, until we see actual results in game. Just because the game revamps over the years doesn't mean the perception of a hacker should change to being acceptable.

Remember when people used to vac hack maps and then immediately cc when someone came into the map? When being called a hacker was the biggest insult a person could do to a legit player? And now we see meso farmers/botters just stay there and continue to vac and kill while someone comes into the map, and hackers are practically welcomed into the community because of the "godly' gear that provide everyone at a low price due to massive duping.

I understand more than anyone the lust for power and higher damage (believe me I've spent enough time playing this game and pouring money into it), but if everyone was meant to have the exact same stat gear, it would've been easier to create/obtain.

The whole purpose of a MMO is that you have a variety of people playing from all over the place...UNIQUENESS is a key factor since no 1 person is exactly the same...and this should hold true for the characters they play too...that's what should make the game interesting to play and always setting a bar higher for yourself to achieve new goals.

Because honestly, what's left to accomplish after getting a 300 atk weapon, 3x atk shoes, 2x-3x atk gloves, 2x atk masks, etc.???

Thank you for obvious but the dialogue was pretty much childish and immature "lol hold eee", that isn't helpful, it's snotty and pitiful. They might as well never engage the community because morons like this ruin golden oppurtunities to make a difference. How are they going to take you seriously when you're snapping jokes like that? They aren't, and most of those issues will be regarded as complaints rather than issues.

-->Talking about how fast one levels up nowadays. Irrelevant.
-->Great security. WHAT. Are those two oblivious to the rampant account hacking problems?
Guess it wasn't much of a surprise that the monkeys there had no clue/information about the game. Really hinders the whole communication thing.

The 200 Mercedes also had opportunities to butt in and bring a problem to light. I'm sure if he/she did that, the other players would have shut up/listened and agreed, and the topic may have changed to discussing about something important. At least it seems like some of the existing problems have now been injected into Nexon America's HQ. Hopefully the janitor doesn't come in and throw all those notes into the trash.

Lol, "Why do you make so many different characters?" That's like asking them, "Why do you make so many classes?"

Like I said, all problems were brought to light. Everyone said account security was the biggest problem.

Problems were said, nexon wrote them down. Whatever happens next is anyone's guess.

The way Nexon NA does their updates doomed GMS a long time ago. Even if something needs to be done, whatever the hell it is, it needs to go to Korea and back. That is such an unbelievably huge limitation, and explains why anything that is GMS exclusive takes years to fix. Whatever was mentioned in that focus group will probably be ignored for this same fucking reason. Tongue
