Anyway, while I doubt they would use the idea Alilatias' idea of the thief hero would fit with the mind theme.

Testonen or what ever his name is could of fake his death knowing the black mage would someday return. Then again i doubt it because that would be a good story and we all knows what happens to a decent story line in this game.

That's the fun about speculation. Anything can go at this point in time! We may get something completely different from what we are expecting, but it never hurts to have a good ol' fashioned speculation thread from time to time about something. So far the only theories I'm supportive of myself in this thread are the symbolism in their emblems and the M.A.P.L.E. thing.... that just sounds like something Nexon would do. Anything else I speculate is just for kicks and fun.

I would bet that Lohd would be the Thief hero, but then again, he wouldn't be an NPC and a character... Oh well. Really intrigued by the MAPLE thing aswell.

Just one thing, where do you find the heart in the in game Aran?
Plus aside from that arrow nothing else that has to do with Mercedes has that type of symbol, right?

Lohd is also around in the Ellin forest after the battle with the Black Mage, according to Aran's story line. if he were a hero, he would be sealed/dead at this point.

I think that the MAPLE theory definitely sounds plausible. I don't know why people brought up Testonen, but personally, I want something new not anything like Testonen.

Testonen was mentioned in game to have fought the black mage when Victoria and Ossyria split, which is probably when the final battle occurred.

Well looked at the last wolf and the emblem on its forehead looks more like Mir's one.
And the symbol on the arrow after looking at a HD art of mercedes (here) looks alot more like this (see how she has it on her cloth, well the one on the arrow is just a little tweaked).

it could look like it, but for some reason, I doubt it's the same mark. Then again

And about Mercedes, that pattern is reflected in her clothing, so I can see it being reflected in her weapon, but the abnormal round top for the "head" seems like something to take notice of, especially since Aran and Evan's artwork are showing similar traits.
