I already have 50+ hours under my belt and several friends of mine have similar or higher mileage. So, I'd say it's fully worth the $10/$15USD.

All gone? I didn't go mine the ones that fell until days later, and they were there just fine.


Speaking of which, I was breaking shadow orbs to spawn more meteors when EoW spawned. Had a fun time killing him, then went to look for the meteor. EoC spawned while I was looking so I headed back home and faced him there. Then I had a goblin invasion after that, first one I've had. 3 boss fights back to back to back. Oy. @_@

maybe it was just that particular one. i only got like sixty or so pieces out of it, and there was no large chunk of meteorite, they were all just arranged in like the outline of crater. i found another one later that gave me about 60 bars so it's no biggie. i'm afraid to break the next shadow orb though... haha. the only piercing weapons i have to fight Eater of Worlds with are Jester/Unholy arrows, Meteor Shot, and maybe Ball o' Hurt, but I'm not sure it works that way.

i'm not sure if anyone else did this to find floating islands but i built a dirt pillar up to about 450 feet and then just started placing blocks and moving laterally. i've reached the right ocean with it, now i'm moving the other way. there's probably an easier way but it's worth mentioning how easy it is to find fallen stars when you basically have a net haha. i also take the floating island treasure rooms and turn them into houses for my npc's haha. i like having a hub way above the ground, kinda makes things simpler. i'll just need to find a way to get my merchant and nurse up there now..

Yea, I plan on building an entire castle in the sky at some point in the future and use the islands as bases.


The easier way is to drag the world file into the program mentioned earlier in this thread (page 2?) and just see where the islands are. :p

And until you can get a vilethorn, a fast swinging sword will work well enough as long as you keep spamming it while you stand next to it.

I used the wide screen program that's been floating around, so it was only 2 images- you can see where they meet due to the sky being two different colors, heh.

Goblins invaded. I was alone. So not fun.
