That... wasn't really a spoiler at all

It kind of was. Anyway, just spoiler everything if you're unsure. Nobody's going to yell at you for making them click an extra time.

That episode wasn't scary at all. A few things made me say "f'uck" cos they were unexpected, but as a whole episode it wasn't scary. I liked the episode, though. Nice to take a break from River Song and Amy for a while. Plus it was nice to see Amy "die" rather than Rory.

Agreed! The story with Amy and River was interesting but it was nice to go back to the generic "strange happenings the Doctor solves" episodes, I missed those. The episode itself was very creepy. Not scary but the dolls... *shudder* And whodathought George was an alien? It was half-expected but still unexpected.

It wasn't genuinely creepy like say the Weeping Angels or the Silence, more like B-movie scary. And George being an alien was definitely unexpected. The biggest surprise for me was how the father could genuinely forget his wife couldn't have kids and yet George was "born"; that was probably the creepiest part for me. But at least knowing the Tenzas aren't bloodthirsty aliens made me feel okay about it. The only thing of course is how to handle his powerful mental abilities.

I was expecting George to have an "imaginary" friend that his parents put into the cupboard cos he scared George once and for the "imaginary" friend to actually be an alien of some sorts and it would feel that it needed to protect George any which way possible.

I kept getting deja vu moments while watching episode 9:

The granny reminded me of one of the extras in Amy's Choice.
Those creepy dolls looked very familiar, for no reason whatsoever.
The ending was sort of like The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances for dads.
Also, it just feels weird looking at humourous manips of set report photos, and then finally seeing the setting in an actual episode a year later.

It was a fun episode though.

I can't begin to imagine what shenanigans the Emperor Dalek would have done to his dressers when it finds out it was tricked.

That would have been a LOT more emotional if I didn't know that Amy and Rory weren't confirmed for season 7. But, David Walliams made it good :3. SMITHY NEXT WEEK <3

It was certainly a very touching episode, Craig actually resisted being a Cyberman for his baby's sake and pretty much instilled emotions back into the Cybermen. The whole thing between the Doctor talking to the baby and referring to non-parents as "peasants" and being called "Stormageddon" was just adorable. Now I know where the Doctor got his stetson, and it's even more sad now that the Doctor already went through 200 years (which I'm sure they'll reveal parts of it next week), and that the next episode is confirmed to be his last day. It also was both expected and mind-blowing that River Song IS the one who will kill the Doctor. Curse you, Silence!

I cant wait till Moffat gets replaced. I really hate what he's done to Doctor Who. It is more Soap than anything nowdays.

What episodes were Soap to you? The episodes that Moffat writes tends to be stuff that'll make you not want to sleep, or at least make you question your surroundings. You can't deny the Weeping Angels or the Silence were created to make you feel happy.

I'm talking about the whole tone of the show.

Since Moffat took over as head honcho it has become a soapy relationship drama, with some action thrown in as an afterthought, rather than the pure action adventure show it was. And I hate season long story arcs too. The last 2-3 seasons have just been one long story. I'd love to see the show go back to its pre Russell T Davies era, it was good then.

Maybe it's because I only watched the new series, but I don't feel the action diminished that much. I also feel that the Doctor was trying more to scare off aliens rather than kill them. I see it as a new approach to a very old character whose usual response to those that threaten him or those he cares about is downright destroying them. And I dunno, it doesn't seem to bad to have a general long reaching arc. I felt the first 1/2 of season 6 was incredibly strong because of the long story arc that lead up to the huge reveal. I still need to watch all of Series 4 and 5, so I may be speaking out of my place.

Have you considered listening to the Big Finish audios? They're still doing 4 episode stories with pretty much every classic Doctor still alive.

Also, why do you hate season long story arcs? I liked the old serial format too, but I kinda understand why they changed it with new Who. I still prefer the Moffat seasons to the RTD ones, because I like the way Moffat handles relationships better.

Really loved this episode. Just... the theme of it. The Doctor is going to die, and instead of "Time Lord Victorious", he's going to face it.

 The Wedding of River Song

Well, the title spoils the end. Yes, they get married. Yes, the Doctor survives being shot by being inside himself. The question? "Doctor Who?". Thought that was pretty clever and I'm surprised they haven't done that before, to be honest. What ruined it for me was I knew Amy and Rory were back for series 7 (and that there was a series 7!) so I knew none of them were going to die or anything like that.

 The Wedding of River Song

Holy crap that was a cool episode. I laughed when I saw the "Area 52 pyramid", and when the Silence told Rory that he was the man who has died again and again, but that ending. The ending was insane and so unexpected, but it works so perfectly.
