[RED] Archer Skill Builds

I never trained at Drakes, didn't like any of their maps very much. I skipped out on CDs because it was always packed; there was always two people a channel splitting, and/or a Wild Hunter OHKOing with better mobility than me etc when I was at that level range. I went to Cellions and if you don't party there, you can stand on the bottom right under neath the steppes and use Arrow Blow to hit upwards. It has a decent circulation. Any area with any kind of a curvature or platforming would require you to use Arrow Blow to some degree, sadly, such as Luster Pixies, though I wouldn't say they are a particularly great training spot, it is very inducive of an Arrow Blow-oriented training.

I completely agree with this, my xbow's level 49 now and I use Arrow Blow a lot more. It doesn't really matter though, does it? You get Blizzard in third job which works somewhat like Arrow Blow.

I don't see why you need one point of Phoenix. It has a mediocre stun rate, so you might stun a monster or two and the other will be aggro'd towards you; Silver Hawk will almost always stun a single monster, which is more beneficial.

Level 1 Phoenix does 64k damage on a neutral monster for me.

I'm a level 131 BM who's returning to the game after a 2-year hiatus. Is there a general consensus for a skillbuild for an archer my level? Thanks

Max Expert -> Hurricane -> Sharp Eyes


Only reason I have considered any Sharp Eyes before Hurricane at all is for some improved mob skill damage, though I will concede that having a stronger Hurricane is a better priority.

EDIT: Nevermind, I realized what I did wrong. I thought the build was off, but I read it more carefully.

If you want to be weaker than quite literally every other bowman, then by all means, go for it.

unfortunately its impossible to be FA-less anymore.

Arrow blow for training an overall stuffs; double shot if you intend to balrog PQ.

ok... i'm wondering if i should use the event reset scroll to make concentrate as part of my main build since as mentioned before, it now stacks with attack potions.

at lvl 26 it lasts for 240 secs which means it has a 1 min CD when it runs out... not bad for an extra 31atk(35 at max) on top of whatever atk potion.

since SE is nerfed and priority has been given to bow expert, wouldn't it be feasible to get max BE, 26/max concentrate and put the remaining points into SE/hurricane?

being 140 and all i wouldn't go through CD hell if i just put points into it right away.

if only someone would crunch the numbers since i suck at these things.. basically 60-65atk(max BE/ 26-max CC) and low level SE/hurricane would beat out max BE and decently leveled hurricane/SE(right now mine's 20/10), right(?

at lvl 140 i have 62 SP.. so max BE, 26 CC, 1 hurricane, 1 dragon's breath, 4 SE.

the 1 min CD wouldn't be such a bother unless i'm soloing pap or something.

thoughts?

could anyone do the math for this?! xD i'm curious as well.

I maxed Double Shot just cause Arrow Blow is completely useless once you hit level 30, but I used Lv. 1 Arrow Blow about 50% of the time while training. Double Shot has the small advantage of being more useful than AB/IA in late 2nd job for 1v1 purposes; some of the other posters in this thread mentioned Arrow Blow being useful at Cellions for Xbows or something but all the best 2nd job training spots in the game are entirely flat, so I dunno why you'd want to train with an inferior skill at an inferior map.

Adding to Dusk's post, the point in Inferno/Blizzard at the beginning of third basically replaces Arrow Blow. I think Blizzard/Inferno at level 1 outdamages max AB with Fundamentals, but I'm not completely sure.

Blizzard technically out damages Iron Arrow at level 1 with 4 mobs, but is also more reliable to use once you hit three or more mobs because you're guaranteed to XHKO all the monsters whereas Iron Arrow will probably take you one more shot to kill the third monster than the first and second.

Neither first job skill is particularly impactful.

For the standard build, what do you mean by "Main Attack"?
I can't seem to find that skill.

By Main Attack, it means either Arrow Blow or Double Shot since there's no skill by that name. Just max whichever skill you prefer.

Ahh this thread has gone over Arrow Blow vs Double shot like 15 times within the 6 pages. Im pretty sure the OP goes over it

If you are returning to maple with a SP reset, or you want to Balrog PQ: UP DOUBLE SHOT
If you want to train fast and dont care about BPQ: UP ARROW BLOW
