Original League of Legends (LoL) Thread
With Skarner, you wanna go Wriggles -> Tanky. Trinity is good on him but it's definitely one of the later items to get. Honestly I prefer going Atmogs, then Trinity way, way later on him
Forte Wrote:Thanks. Smile right now I'm just trying to learn as many champions as possible so I know what they do. It's hella confusing when all of a sudden you get hit by a skill you didn't expect.

Its sometimes confusing, but it won't be that much once you see what dem abilities really does.

Riot dun goofed 2nd day in the row. Server derped again.

On a positive note, tried out Skarnerssssss earlier today...my God I think I had too much fun with him. I think I might be screwing around with him more than I should during his free week lol.

To be fair that works on every non-carry AD champion, as well as most of the carries. The build is not called the Metagolem for nothing.

With learning abilities/champions: This is an issue Riot has only publicly addressed once, a very long time ago, and I wish they would do something about it. With the (pre-) season one interviews they discussed the "Burden of Knowledge" and the effect it has on newer players. They mentioned the possibility of setting up ranked with a predetermined selection of champions (for example: you can only interact with 25 champions, for choosing and banning, while in ranked), to lessen the burden and solidify the meta. Solving not only the burden of knowledge, but also any problems brought in by new champions, or by just having too many choices for bans to be really all that effective.
Decided to try out a new user-created custom game mode, called "Minion Wars"

Its basically what it is: minions duking it out against enemy minions, with summoners supporting them with abilities, though those abilities cannot do damage. Also, shenanigans such as physically blocking opposing minions are OK to do, but at your own risk.

If anyone wants to see how it goes, I do have a replay if anyone requests it.

Except FM is dumb as hell on Skarnerssss, and I've never seen an Atma's Impaler on one either. I'm also of the opinion that Warmog's is less than desirable because part of his effectiveness comes from spamming his shield, which benefits from defensive stats, but not so much from HP.

I'm not saying it's best build only build surrender at 20. Just said it works. Effectiveness of course, varies by champion. Also I ended that section of my post by listing a build with two merc treads, so I'm not sure why you're taking that so seriously.

The person I usually play with that does a good skarner said he usually does this for Skarnersssss's items:
wits end, triforce, frozen heart, wriggles because jungle. Pretty much tanky, attack speed, cdr, and not in that order.

It's a picture, plus it's not your picture, plus it's not your meme, plus you made that response to someone that was serious about a build, whose build suggested little to do with Metagolem, and more like MetaWriggle (metaworm), and this is a run-on sentence.

I can make AD Anivia work, but you're not seeing me spout that stuff in the slightest.
Old, but still extremely funny just because Annie bot pulls it off

 Trist #1 AD carry

Haven't had such a great Trist game for some time. Early on, our team wasn't doing well; we were 0-7 by 10 minutes. Their jungle Cho was getting fed from teammates being out of position when he ganked. In response, I played a bit safe, and my support covered the river just in case something were to happen. The only big thing I did was to jump + E + Ignite the enemy support to force her back just a bit. Since I couldn't be an aggressive Tristana as well as my team not doing so well, I decided to get Wriggles as "insurance" (I had planned to get it anyways, but having it simply gave me a degree of assurance)

With Wriggles, I began to farm up and pushing the lane a bit, and I was able to gimp the enemy AD carry by forcing him to lose CS under the tower. Once I started being on a roll with kills, I simply jumped around, disabled/debuffed enemies, being sure to focus on enemy carries and Cho, who was fed at that time. Also, we took out all except one Dragon spawn, and also got Baron once we took out most of the team in a teamfight.

Landed a lot of double kills, a triple (ace) under their first top tower, and eventually acquired legendary status.

They eventually surrendered.
oops i stayed in a custom messing with builds too long and my 2 bots finished it for me :x
I lost a bot match once that way Eddi. Frown

While I'm truly sorry that I do not have copyrights and trademarks on all the memes of the internet, I still do believe you took the post too seriously. For all the reasons you just stated, hilariously enough.

To show my true sorrow, I shall now go try skarner for the first time in a Co-Op match. A reaction which makes about as much sense as trying to convince me when I am and when I am not being serious.

edit: Jungle Skarner is easier than jungle GP. Didn't build attack speed early enough I think, but was a pretty fun romp through the jungle.

Doran's Blades and a vamp sceptre are almost always better unless you're being outranged by the enemy carry (doesn't look like Tryndamere was doing well, either). Since you're Tristana, you don't get outranged by the enemy carry.

I'm not a fan of either seeing as I'd rather rely on my support for sustain then items and usually I go straight for IE, but if you adapt a pushing strategy which isn't that bad if you're against such a bad laner like ashe a wriggles is more beneficial in my opinion. The bonus on minions helps with the pushing and the ward is something that keeps you safer. Having armour on it is a bonus.

I don't know what you're talking about me getting "outranged", but having a Wriggles early on - esp for any AD carry/melee champs - helps a lot, especially the passive. The armor, lifesteal, and AD it gives is pretty nice too. And if you're getting outlaned/not doing well, that item will at least help you out a bit while you're getting back into the groove. And since my team wasn't doing well (and I hadn't started my killing rampage yet), I felt that getting Wriggles would - at the very least - give me some form of advantage in the meantime. (I was the only person on my team that was doing well at that time, but in terms of CS, not completely winning the lane or getting more kills just yet).

In other words, I considered my own situation and the overall situation before deciding to get Wriggles.

And even if I was doing well, I might still consider getting Wriggles on Trist simply so I could press on the advantage I have.
Man, there's nothing one can do against AD Sion Q_Q. I was first time jungling Irelia (with mah Chinese Nightblade skin hue hue hue) and I was owning pretty badly, but then their AD sion got fed.

Fed AD Sion > Fed AD Irelia

The end.

Fed and let him run to mid/late game, where he can trolololol your entire team? Hurt

Huehuehuehuehue
He got an unofficial pentakill off of us =/.

I ran away to not let him have the official pentakill and then he chased me all the way to inhib tower, well he got a little low, so I Qed back.

He killed me before I could land my E >_<. He did die to tower though.
Metagolem build doesn't work too well on any champion with some kind of spammable self shield. You want mitigation moreso than HP in those circumstances, since the shield is basically a bunch of "secret" HP.

See: Skarner, Riven, Udyr

Outranged meaning exactly what it sounds like, the enemy carry you're laning against has more range than you do. Graves is the exception to this imo since he's Graves and Riot designed him to be a ranged tanky DPS which was moronic. Doran's Blades help you catch up when you're behind since they're cheaper and the extra HP is fairly helpful. If there are a lot of ADs on the other team get a Tabi, not a Wriggle's.
Trist gets outranged by like everybody but graves early on lol.

Why I like Wriggles:
Gives Armor, which in a bot lane is far more useful than 100hp, since all the incoming damage is physical.
You're making your support's job easier since they don't have to heal you through so many numbers, since every number counts for more.
The combine costs are ridiculously good, the added farm effects that you don't really need are completely free along with some base statistics.
You get a perma ward so you save your support 75g/3min, which is pretty helpful early game when they're still working on stacking dat gp5.
