Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion
Lozmaster Wrote:It's a shame that the for glory versions didn't just turn off the gimmicks in each level and leave the platforms there.

Would have been much better than 20+ copies of the same map.

i'm still hoping for a "turn off events" button in the options

If that was going to happen, they wouldn't be bothering with the for glory mode.

Granted we still have a few months before release so things can change but i HEAVILY doubt such a feature is going happen. Sakurai doesn't like walling off content like that, even if the game is competitively geared.

I do think it's funny that final destination was the only pick because in every single smash bros game, final destination is not considered a balanced stage at all. Some characters perform better with platforms and are heavily disadvantaged by their disappearance. Of course it's a whole new engine, but the marth v fox match-up on final destination could very well be as heavily in marths favor as it was in melee and brawl. Although, for glory won't be used for tournaments so it doesn't really matter in the end outside of picking a character to get a high global score.

i meant for multiplayer with people next to you, where you can't pick that kind of mode, so in the same way you can turn off certain items to be allowed to turn off bosses and stuff in the maps.

I always thought Battlegrounds was considered better than Final Destination.

I certainly like it better than FD, honestly, platforms are pretty important in my opinion.

Yes battlefield is considered neutral, as is smashville if i remember correctly

slightly more partial on Smashville being more neutral, as some characters have bad matchups due to topmost platform in battlefield(e.g peach cannot easily reach top platform quickly)

all great points about the inclusion of platforms in tournament stages. i hate moving platforms as well as floating stages. sure they add stage-dip-jump meta games but its just one more way to mistake and -1 yourself.

it also gives acknowledgement to obviously avoided stages, so that stage developers all can have equal representation on the popular maps.

Smashville is actually the best stage in all of SSB history.

Do you think he will drop a ton of powerups if you beat the tar out of him prior to him stealing from you like he did in Kirby Air Ride? :f6:

Yes indeed, that whole direct trailer almost completely rendered in the wii u game was an elaborate ruse.

Couldn't possibly mean pokeballs or anything, especially not when mentioned next to assist trophies.
