Well, I don't know the real reason behind this, but I believe that may be the case.

There are still the original episode copies floating around, so we're pretty much fine. Just disappoint with the fact they omitted out Rainbow Dash saying "Derpy" and underping her eyes. It's a bit ridiculous at how badly this is being blown out of proportion. I will only be truly disappointed if THIS episode edit means future AND past episodes won't have our googly eyed pony Derping it up.

I think her eyes are still Derped for this episode, just not as severely. Let's chalk up the excuse to "the lightning temporarily corrected her eye sight". Oh god! That can be the perfect fanon excuse! brb posting this on Ponychan so to calm down the fans.

I can see why Hasbro wanted to shorten the intro to 30 seconds, I found it maybe TOO long and it kinda dragged a lot with these silly puns. Then again, I've listen to the TV version a million times.

If you didn't know the artist, you would admit it's a neat drawing of a pony OC. The ears and tail looks really cool. Most Pony OCs I see are just blatant, wretched, rehashes from a pony creator program.

Though they seem to have quickly deleted it after putting it on. Dunno exactly why but they could just be removing the "special 10000 subbers" thing as they said in one of their interviews they wouldn't dabble in such vanities and self-stroking of their ego.
