I know right? >_>
Also i want to say that clinkz and twitch are nothing alike besides the stealth.
They're very different in how you're meant to play them.

Idk where else to post this, and it's still about a MOBA :l
WillDaSnail Wrote:Just played with my IRL friend who's a first timer on LoL. Played Shen, and never thought this would be a fuc'king disaster.

He made some VERY fundamental mistakes. I won't bother to list them out because I'm just very saddened how he's level 6 yet he hasn't had them down. And you guys will laugh at it. And he doesn't know how to play Sona, worst of all. I had to get myself killed 4 times just to save him. Had he used him correctly, I wouldve been much better off. I was very, very close to ragequitting.

(On a good note, I managed to utilize Stand United to save my Lux teammate. Kind of the warm fuzzy moment)

Now I dunno if I'm in the mood to play more LoL tonight. I can't believe I'm pulling a Kaj. Literally. Now I really know how he feels. >_>

My game last night:

Me: 20-9-3.
Almost the rest of the team: Positive
Renekton: 3-30-2.

We lost. I can't believe I got paired up with a level 3 summoner (I'm level 12).
Had to queue dodge a ranked game because of an AFKer in champ select. Luckily the next game made up for it, at least.

I'm considering tossing a Sunfire into my Katarina build, to replace the Randuins. And then putting a Rylai's in place of one of the Gunblades. It feels kinda HP stacky, though. >:
The slow will really help, imo. I'd take Randuin's over Sunfire, but that's mostly because of how amazing I think Randuin's is on Shen.
I suppose there is a rule against posting referral links here, eh?
I doubt it's against the rules however it is a little distasteful if you think about it. If I were you I would just PM the referral link to potential players that appear interested in joining the game.

Honestly? If they are a first timer i dont get why you think they wouldnt make mistakes..

Even though he is level 6, he is somewhat of a first timer, yet I had expected him to at least have the fundamentals down by default.

Though that expectation went out the door once I saw he did not know how to use Sona. Tongue

Eh not everyone takes the time to brush up on champions before they play them/looks at item guides for them/whatever other prep work can be done. I know I've had at least one or two terrible games where I had some low level feeders who were complaining about what nerds the other team was for being able to play their champions competently. Or how "it's just a game", so they didn't need to practice their champions or anything. It can be frustrating, but that's what they want to do, and that's apparently the extent of what they enjoy the game for. I couldn't imagine doing that, as I feel that doing something like that can be a game ruining experience, but for some people, they just want as casual gameplay as possible.

As an example, even though I've tried almost every character in the game that I've been able to, I will still generally watch a stream or video of them, look at an item/skill build/advice guide for a champion before playing them, then go play a practice game with them, and then, at some point, I might play them in a game with real people. And I don't expect to win that first game, nor do I expect to do well. And that's me playing the game casually the way I want to play it. <.< God that doesn't sound casual at all, but that is what casual means to me. I'm not trying to win at all costs, or perfect my skills, I just want to go and have some fun, and maybe learn some things.

Let me establish this before we go further:

My friend told me he uses Ashe and Ryze extensively, which was OK with me (good starting champs). But for whatever reason, he picks Sona and I started to worry what might happen. That's a huge jump in gameplay difference if you noticed. Ashe and Ryze are simple easy-to-use guys. But Sona...she's mostly support and can only do attacking on the side.

And I'm giving him a hard time because if he's playing there alone and pulls off the same thing he did last night, he's going to tick off more than a few people that are simply looking for a good game to play. Just like when Kaj gave me a hard time, I knew I had to learn fast or I'll get my ass handed to me again and again, and give everyone a hard time as a result. (inb4 Kaj picks me apart for using Warmog when I started using Rammus. Rolleyes).

Anyways, I told him to go play more practice games, stick with a specific class of champions, look up guides, and see gameplay videos before I teach him advanced specific/general protips.

Same thing with every other DotA <-> LoL champion really. Ashe is nothing like Drow Ranger, but they're rather similar at least.

My guess was that he figured playing with you he could afford to try out something a bit different. I know when I play with friends, I sometimes pick something different from what I usually play in a game because it's my friends. They're not going to hate me if I do terribly or screw up with it . . . though they may get irate. Tongue Anyway, yes, I would agree with talking to him about it. You can't help a lot of people online because they don't want, or won't, let you help them. It's just one of those things were you can only do so much though. The best way to learn how to play most games is by experience after all, and the only way your friend will gain that experience is by playing lots and lots.

best.

kog.

ever.

Bottom and top were feeding, ww was doing a good job in the jungle. Top went down in a few min. Team wanted to surrender at 25 but then I started getting fed, shen started getting his tank items and WW was helping to own in team fights.

First real ranked game. Felt so good to carry bads.

Oh and the fiddle on our team didn't speak english.
Grats on the ranked win! Big Grin
Went from 9-3-11 and 9-0-7 Lux games to a 4-8-11 Lux game that went longer than the other two. :< Put in my place.

I'm about to hit level 20, and I have 7k IP. Get runes or more champs? Corki, Olaf, and Janna sound most interesting at the moment. Champ purchase decisions are intimidating.
Can't wait to lose my first seven games in a row in ranked.

I had a bad day as Shen today, lol. mad can attest to that.

Thanks!

I really hope I can climb the ladder to at least 1800 elo Sad

That game was pretty damn bad for me too. Let's just blame our teammates and call the other team no-life pricks. QQ, QQ.

Don't play ranked as soon as you hit 30.
