Nor do I. It's pretty apparent you're supposed to stack AP, since 1 AP = 2 HP while 20 HP = 1 AP. <_<

Granted, it's still low level play, I got fed pretty hefty early on :|

Man... either Irelia carried me further up the elo ladder than before, or I'm just getting worse with Anivia, or matchups are giving me the middle finger.

As a possible harbinger, the last game I played today, I was Irelia, and the person that was the worst of us by far was Anivia. (though to his credit, he did nuke people into oblivion and never overstepped his bounds) And it was a match I randomly recorded.

Granted, it's still low level play, I got fed pretty hefty early on :|

I main Dr. Mundo and I build tanky every single game. The thing about Mundo is that even if you build a Warmog's, Merc Treads, Force of Nature, and Spirit Visage, you can still do really good damage for not having any dps items. Then if you can afford an Atma's Impaler that makes your damage even better. I run with all attack speed runes and hp quints so my masochism is really good. What I try to do in group fights is run into the fight and go directly for their squishies in the back. I've tried building him DPS with a few tank items in the past but I find building him as a tank is the best.

Too bad that it's proven that he's build best as DPS? Sorry but building mundo as a tank would make me queue dodge you
Mundo is not a tank, simple.
No matter how much HP and armor you build on him he can not protect your team, even if you run for their squishies you leave your team 100% not protected.
Mundo has no CC what so ever, not counting his cleaver slow since it's not that amazing in a teamfight, it's good for chasing but not in a teamfight.
And whenever i see people pick mundo i make sure someone on our team got ignite and if he does what many mundos do and run into all of us we just focus him down fast, if he pops his ult, ignite ruins that for him
To me building mundo as a tank is like building olaf and vlad as a tank. Or building nasus full tank.

I'm saying is that you don't have to build dps items to do good damage as Mundo. You can build completely tanky with maybe an atma's impaler and still do really good damage and be nearly impossible to kill especially in group fights. From my expierience of Mundo, and I've played him since level 1, if I don't build tanky all they have to do is throw an ignite on me and I'm easy to kill. As you said, the other team will almost always have an ignite especially if they see a Mundo on the other team.

If you read what i wrote, if a mundo storms into the mid of a good team, even if he build as a tank, he'll be nuked down fast.
And i'm saying that mundo can deal decent damage even with a tank build, yes. But it's still far from his true potential.
And no, a mundo is not nearly impossible to kill, i find mundos easy to kill. Executioner or ignite and bye bye mundo. Doesnt matter if he's tanky or not.
Sorry but it's really a waste for the team to have a tanky mundo. If the enemy carries get a madreds + ignite mundo is worthless.
If i play ranked and i see an enemy mundo, i'll go with kogmaw, WW or something like it. If your team puts an ignite on mundo he's dead in less than 6 seconds vs a kog'maw. And he wont get close to the kog'maw.
He's too easy to counter, low damage output and he's only ideal for 3v3 maps. Mundo is low tier.
I have never and i mean never ever seen a tanky mundo cause problems when i play with my premade set-up.

Smurf or not, doesn't really matter. Kaji was more than willing to team with me on his main account, least I think so, but I was confused as hell on his wording so I ended up solo queuing and Kaji got mad at me

For anyone that has a slow patcher try this:

go to c:/riot games/league of legends then find the launcher_config.xml
open with notepad
replace the global settings url line(not sure what this was before changing as i cant locate the thread telling you what to do, but it will start with globalsettingsurl)
with-: <GlobalSettingsUrl>http://ffs.solidstatenetworks.net/riotgames/riot-l3.ffs</GlobalSettingsUrl>
save in notepad.

I did this as my patcher used to take 2 hours to do patches, and now it takes around 5 minutes to patch. this may or may not work for you as i read its kind of hit and miss. I advise you to copy and paste the old code i told you to delete and save it in a notepad just in case it makes your patcher even slower, so that you can just go put the old code back in instead of having to reinstall the entire client.

Is Doran's Blade still a recommended item, even with the increased gold cost stopping you with combo'ing it with an HP Pot?
I've been off and on about this in recent games. I'll either get the blade and be on my way, or I'll get the Boots of Speed and an HP pot or two to suffice.

It works slightly better if you're going with an offensive route in the metagame (runes + masteries). Other than that, I would recommend Doran's Shield if you are up against a DPS carry. Not sure what to do about anticarries or casters.

Also, Mundo doesn't have movement like the other melee champions, if you don't build him tanky he won't be able to get in there and attack the squishies. I've had an 11-2 ranked match as tank Mundo with attack speed runs and Atma's Impaler and never had a k/d ratio below 1. Looks to me like you're trying to argue that Mundo just isn't a good champion or isn't as good as others, which may be true, but if you play Mundo, tanky is the best way to build.

I've had 26-3-23 games with tanks in ranked, doesnt mean that a tank can carry in all games.
And no, i can accept playing with a DPS mundo but building him tanky is fail. That's just how it is. His damage output is extremely low as tanky, yes he got quite a bit of attack but he lacks the damage output others got. And how long i expect him to last not being tanky? How does xin zhao survive a team fight? How does trundle survive? How does olaf survive? they're all tanky DPS champions. Building tank mundo makes as much sense as building tank olaf.

A tank is meant to soak up the damage for your team, but a tanky mundo just sucks.
You can ignore a tanky mundo, yes you can ignore him. If you rush in there after their squishy guess who you're leaving unprotected.. Your own team.
That's why tank mundo doesnt work, you're not a tank, you're just a DPS with too much hp and too little damage output.

I also had a 17-3-16 game as soraka, doesnt make her super good (Was ranked and was with some friends and i for fun went for AD items)


Edit: Also lol'd hard at the mundo lacks movement that others champions got, you know his ulti got a built-in-ghost, right?
