I love how Kubo wasted pages telling us AGAIN that Ichigo is stuck and that the world is fucked. Yea, we get it. Give us some actual content and stop this crap.

Except... Naruto didn't move anything along, it just pretty much made the last page of the last chapter last an entire chapter. Everything mentioned in this week's chapter of Naruto was already known. At least Kubo has the gall to kill off major characters, as well as slightly develop Byakuya. Let's face it, he's as flat of a character as they come.

Yes that will be rather problematic, but it won't matter if Ichigo can't get out of that box.

I don't know what to think about this... Bleach has plenty of characters... killing off Byakuya with that little development to it previously seems wrong if not an insult to the fans of him. I really hope he isn't dead yet and that if he's trully gonna die in this battle he takes that girl out with him, that'd be the least acceptable to take him out.

One of the things that made the start of this arc exciting was the rather fast peace and the "mistery" of the many loose links. Now most of them have been clarified and the manga has gone back to its slow speed from its previous arc... Kubo better realise his mistakes soon or even the manga will be canceled.

I feel like Byakuga has had a good amount of character development. At first he was a cold heartless man that followed the rules of Soul Society to the letter, but Ichigo changed him (like SS as a whole) for the better. He is extremely hard working and powerful and as the fight between him and Tsukishima showed, he is able to think up ways to fight on the fly, even if he needs to risk his well-being to do them. Where we are now, it is clear that he cares for Rukia a lot more than he used to (or maybe he just expresses it more now). In this arc, he is realizing that he is rather outmatched and is trying to sacrifice himself to help Soul Society as much as he can in case he dies in this fight. While I doubt he would go down this easily, I wouldn't be surprised if he was mortally wounded.

I HIGHLY doubt they would cancel this manga considering it is ending in 5 months anyways... Kubo has kept this slow as pace for a while now and I can't really seeing him changing it, as much as I would like him to speed things up.

Byakuya might be in a character level equal if not close to that of Itachi in Naruto. In the first arc, he was the main rival/obstacle for Ichigo to save Rukia.
I wouldn't call development him changing his personality behind the scene (the year and eight months before the Xcution arc). I consider Kubo did right showing us that passionate side of him after facing fear in this chapter, however it was too damn short, thats why I really hope he isn't down and that there's is more to this fight before he dies.

You speak like this doesn't happen often in naruto and one piece. Hell, naruto did it this week too, and one piece did it very recently when they showed Team Zoro all unconscious and called them "dead" 2 pages before the end of a chapter... and then didn't show them again for 4 chapters.

Ok, they sent kenpachi after the leader. I can't believe that I didn't realize that was why he wasn't there.
Kinda sucks though, the captains could have held off the quincies with the shikai and then just let kenpachi deal with them one at a time.
