Pokémon X and Pokémon Y
Toxeon sounds awful. I'm personally placing my bets on a Dragon-type Eeveelution, so it'll be like past generations (Espeon/Umbreon, Leafeon/Glaceon).

A dolphin should be a water/fairy.

So badass.

First thought:
sudowoodo evolution.

Isn't sudowoodo a rock type? So wouldn't that make this a rock/grass type evolution? That would actually kind of be super epic. Although I feel it is a little strange to assume that for an evolution to be level 25 (it's mentioned it was in a level 25 hoard).

It's a rock that mimics a tree.
My point is that it isn't going to evolve into an ACTUAL tree with leaves and roots and all that.

Thematically it doesn't make sense for it to evolve from a rock mimicking a tree into a ghostly looking tree.

Tree looking thing > Tree
Fish with whiskers > dragon with whiskers
metal coin > giant metal bell
a cicada > a bee AND it's living hollow husk
a living pokeball > an upsidedown living pokeball
ant > dragonfly > dragon

point being, it doesn't always make sense. Sure it might not be an evo of sudowoodo, but it just fits the character artworks.

Gyarados: "Gyarados is partially based on a legend about how carp that leapt over the Dragon Gate would become dragons."
Bronzor + Bronzong: "Bronzong and the fact that it evolves from Bronzor also seems to be based on an old Japanese myth present in the book Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things by Lafcadio Hearn. The priests of Mugenyama wanted to forge a bell for their temple, so they asked the local women to donate their bronze mirrors for this purpose."
Nincada is a larval cicada, Ninjask is an adult one. Shedinja is the exoskeleton shed when it becomes an adult.
Voltorb and Electrode aren't even relevant.
the Trapinch line is based on an Antlion: http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/On...and_Flygon

I fail to see your point, as all those pokemon have genuine origins that explain the changes they go through when they evolve.

So no, it still doesn't work. "tree looking thing" becoming an actual tree isn't enough of a basis to explain the evolution.

*sigh*
You're overanalyzing this.
Something that looks like a tree but isnt, sudowoodo, and that tree pokemon; they look alike, and hence the joke "oh they must be related evolutionarily." by appearance alone.
But, since you didn't quite catch that, here, have this explanation. =_=

Preorder from GAME (UK) and you will get this.

Pretty nifty.

Apparently there will be a downloadable pokemon available too. Though it's unsure if it will be a Wifi event upon launch or a pre-order bonus. A code was mentioned though I think.

Nothing is confirmed yet though.

Because of 3DS they can patch the game later AFAIK. And they can release mystery legendaries and actually keep them a mystery until their event is ready.

Indeed, and i'm quite excited about something like that happening. Starting from this generation they can add pokemon after the games release, which would keep the game interesting if new pokemon kept being revealed even after the game is released.

Of course, previous event legendaries were "revealed", but we knew about them anyway.

People are hearing "DLC" and kicking up a shitstorm. but come on, we had DLC already in the form of Wifi events, the tournaments in Black and White 2 and tons of other stuff. The game being on the 3DS just opens up so many possibilities including expansions.

Have new pokemon introduced after the release would be awesome (and now they can patch any glitches too). I remember my friends used an action replay to get jirachi and deoxys before they were announced an released, ruined the surprise. I would be disappointed if you had to pay for them though (or if i missed the event)
