"It's not botting, it's AFK training"

FabledGumbo Wrote:I don't care if people do this or not since it doesn't affect my experience at all. I'm just saying that saying it's against the rules isn't a valid excuse if you break any of the rules you're supposedly following.

If it's actually a problem, it's on Nexon to fix it. I guarantee you Nexon doesn't even think it's a problem or they'd take the five minutes to fix it the way they fixed that extra inventory slot exploit recently.

homicidal maniacs aren’t so bad because no one, or almost no one, has gone through their life without breaking at least one law before. You might be questioning this statement, so let’s take a look at some commonplace laws that you’ve almost definitely broken before. You’ve probably jaywalked before, which is illegal, by the way. Oh, you have a driver’s license? PSHAW, you’ve probably driven people under the age of 20 before you got your year! Oh, you’ve also probably sped before. So obviously, it’s very hypocritical of you to be criticizing homicidal maniacs for breaking the law, because you’ve also broken the law before!

it's not botting! it's "botting".
What if playing the game itself is against TOS O.o

It probably is for a lot of people. A large amount of usernames/character names technically break the ToU, but they don't ban people for that most of the time.

"refuse to grant" and "be able to terminate" doesn't necessarily mean an outright banning unless absolutely necessary.
most of the time the usernames are just changed to something else.
it's also a "hey it's not our fault this username you were wanting to create for some reason is not available for you to use"

I hate how some people feel they are safe/have the right to do this pomegranate just because "they are part of a big chunk of Nexon's income".

And whats sad is that it is actually true, because Nexon seems to have accepted AFK tranining is wrong but yet is not willing to severely punish the ones doing this is because they don't want to cut on their income.

Several people high up on the rankings were banned last night; I went from rank 96 to 88 without training at all. Implicates (previously rank 5) was one of them. Maybe Nexon is finally starting to take some action?

There is also this section added to the main forum. I've yet to use it but I have tons of people to report. It'll be interesting to see how it's handled.

Everyone feels they are safe, not just the big spenders. Even perm bans aren't permanent anymore. Nexon was always pretty pomegranate at handing out punishments but lately it's an absolute joke. A 7 day ban for months of botting big whoop. They will crack down for bit then go back to letting everyone run rampant again like always.

Until Nexon permanently bans everyone ever caught botting it isn't enough as far as I'm concerned. I appreciate the push in attempting to limit the amount of players engaging in illegitimate activity but when the people who are banned temporarily react to their 'warnings' like this:

It quickly becomes clear that this 'solution' is not even remotely enough of a deterrent. pineapple that guy, and pineapple his attitude toward playing the game. He's going to get unbanned and continue botting and nothing will be resolved.

It's only true because Nexon let it become true. They spent so long not banning people, even those who weren't whales, that the end result is that no one pays for the game except the whales. So they can't possibly afford to lose the whales now, as they're the only ones still paying, because everyone else has lost faith in the company.

Temporary bans though.... To my knowledge every single one of them have came back to the rankings.

A bunch more people were banned today, again. It's not enough since these are most likely just temporary, but it's a step in the right direction. Redface
