I'm sorry if this has been covered or mentioned already, but after just watching that gameplay video, is the battle system like graces where you press up and down to move versus right and left (most tales games)? Because I hated that and never could really get used to graces' battle system.

They haven't specified. It probably won't be known until a playable demo is released. It'll probably be similar to Xillia 2, since it was so polished.
Eyaz Wrote:The camera does look too zoomed in. Hope it's just the persons setting. I like to generally see the whole battlefield : D
As far as I know, each game (even Phantasia I think) has had settings that allow you to change the camera distance, typically between Target, Party, Enemies, All. The angle itself seems a bit too specific character third-person, rather than party/battle field third-person though.
Enjoy more of the same music Polantaris.
There were also videos added for Kamui, Real Map Battle, and Chat
The real map battle video is the same as the ones posted earlier. I think everything except the Chat was shown before already in some form.
Abyssal Chronicles has some caps of the videos from last night's stream.
The first video, they discuss how the large world was built accentuate the RPG feel of Adventuring and going on a journey. It has elements like the treasure box, and signs with extremely wide open areas and detailed backgrounds. There were concerns that it might be too large, especially if you missed something and needed to turn back, so the maps were designed with this in mind.
The Kamui video discusses how it's like the Style-Shift (from Graces). You can adjust mid-battle who you can Kamui with, and you can see the player cycle through each version, despite Alisha being in the party as well, which means character switching like in Xillia 1 has returned.
Abyssal Chronicles reports that the release date may possibly have been leaked, to be Jan. 22, 2015. We'll know on the 13th if this is true or not. HYPE.
They've also announced that pre-orders will receive a random strap of Mikleo, Edna, Sorey, or Alisha (pls). Pre-orders will also get a promo code for a Mystic Arte for Mikleo, Lailah, and Alisha, which are extra Mystic Artes for them that have been used by other characters in past series. Mikleo's is apparently Loni Dunamis's Final Prayer from Tales of Destiny 2.
Horrid. If these are purely aesthetic, I won't mind too much, aside from all that want if Sorey gets Asbel's Lunar Requiem. If they actually have functional effects... They did go out of their way to make all of Xillia 2's Mystic Artes functionally identical though; none of them had any element or damage type association.
UPDATE: Official CM#1 added. It's longer than the last one because there's 10 seconds of still footage asking you to subscribe...
More pre-order bonuses from stores in Japan, plus the scan of the game cover.
Not mentioned there is that Seven-Eleven is also offering a bonus with the game: A special Seven-Eleven themed Costume and Healing Arte for Sorey.

Yep. Not even on the website yet. http://www.abyssalchronicles.com/?fn_mod...fn_id=1312
AbyssalChronicles has a summary up, but I'll probably do a translation later today.
Shows a lot about the story, since it;s a Scenario Trailer. The Cameo Mystic Artes are shown at the end too. Looks like Rose has a really prominent role in the story ;_; Alisha ;_; Though it's not 100% confirmed that she is a playable character, being so prominently on the cover of the game and having a designated weapon implies that she is. Of course, on Xillia 1's cover, Muzet and Gaius were there (though in the background) and on Xillia 2's cover, Elle was at the front next to Ludger.
A girl who seems to have some deep fated connection with the Divine. She is able to see the Divine, and has a high Spiritual Power.
Some other quotes available (I think)
"It's rather dangerous for a girl traveling on her own"
"Even so, Dezel, why are you so interested in it?"
"What is that! Tell me"
Roze travels the continent as a member of the merchant guild "Sekirei no Hane" (Wagtail's Wing). She thinks of herself as having a good standing in society, never compromising with things she feels are unreasonable or disagreeable. She possesses a high spiritual power and can somehow recognize Divine. Through some sort of fate, she joins Sorey's party and their journey, where her ability to see Divine blossoms. Roze's ability to see Divine is somehow tied to her past.
PV4 Translation
Quote:Narrator: <Priest Lore>
Lailah: This appears to be a mural describing the journey of the one who would become the Priest and his trials
Sorey: The Priest's trials...
Narrator: And henceforth, the curtain rises for the story of the Priest who appears during the time known as the age calamity
Lailah: Now that you've become the only Priest, Sorey, please lend me the strength to light your path
Alisha: You've really become the Priest now
Lailah: The Priest has the power to purify the Demons that bring calamity to Humans and Divine, putting them to rest.
Your ideals, and what you can do, please don't apologize for them
Dezel: That power you use in battle, enveloping yourself with a Divine, what is it? Would you be able to give me that power too?
Roze: But, it's my fault isn't it?! That it turned out like this!
Edna: No matter what the reason is, that person is rejecting the Divine.
Mikleo: In the realest meaning, Sorey has no human ally that he can bear the destiny of the Priest with.
Roze: I saw it...
Mikleo: After, it's up to what answer he comes up with
Sorey: This is the legendary...
Lailah: It's my fault. Assuming that there was no way a dragon could be here...
Sorey: So you're saying that the Defilement in the town is giving it power right? Then if we purify that first
Edna: We have no choice but to kill it. Well, that is if we can, of course...
Alisha: We saw the dirty reality for what it really is...
After working so hard for everyone's sakes...
Sorey: It's alright. I'm holding back.
(Evil Guy): To think that a new Priest would appear
Mikleo: I'm against it. It's too reckless.
Sorey: The "Calamity Swordsman" is something that the Priest has to take care of
Edna: We've talked about what would happen if you ever lose sight of yourself, right?
Lailah: That strength of yours will definitely hurt you in the future.
Dezel: At the least, I'll destroy that bond
Roze: I'll do something about it! Because that's what I've decided!
Sorey: This... This alone is something that I must do!
I'm not sure if this is something that could be called an 'answer'... but I've decided what to do.
It's been speculated that the evil guy shown in the trailer is the King of Calamity, or the "Calamity Swordsman" (possibly the same person) mentioned in the Lore and the Trailer respectively. It's also speculated that the purple girl shown after Roze's last lines there is a special type of Divine mentioned in the Famitsu article.
加護天族 (Kagotenzoku)
Literally, Divine Protection Sky Tribe, a type of Divine that grants divine protection to those who seek them out, blessing them.
試練 (Shiren, Trial)
Across the continent, past Priests have left behind their teachings in ruins, creating trials to be overcome. The Trial of Fire, Igrein, and the Trial of Water, Lufei are introduced.
There will apparently be demos available in October.
Evangelion costumes confirmed. MUH WALLET. http://www.abyssalchronicles.com/?fn_mod...fn_id=1317
Still no confirmation whether Zaveid is playable, but since Rose gets a costume (AND ASUKA NO LESS), she has to be playable. RIP SoreyxAlisha. Where's Mikleo's Kaworu plug suit...
There's also some confirmation from those playing the demo that the combat system will be like Graces's Style Shift system. Your basic attacks will cycle the same way, with directional input affecting the Artes; however, your other Artes can be used to replace any of these artes in the cycle, instead of interrupting them like in Graces. These regular Artes also have Arcane Arte variants.
Zaveid
So did Zaveid. Interestingly enough, his weapon is listed as "???".
Divine Blessing
Talks about how these specific Divine are supposed to cleanse Defilement from areas, but are nowhere to be found. First screenshot shows the Defilement in an area, in those dark specks floating around. The townsfolk will be affected, etc. It introduces a Divine named Saind, who Sorey asks to give their blessing back to the area. Having done so, you can visit them in the area where they are blessing.
They're still revealing key characters, though it's doubtful they're party members, especially since the cover art for the game is already decided.
We had a glimpse of Simon in PV4, where it was speculated she was one of the Blessing Seraphs.
There's also mentions elsewhere there are equipment skills that grant bonuses when you wear them. Not sure if it means bonus effects like in Xillia, or learnable skills like in Vesperia.
The official website was updated as well.
Mystic Artes, which surprisingly shows every confirmed character's Mystic Arte. Maybe there's more in store. (Hopefully not literally). Sorey: 雷塵双豹牙 (Raijin Souhyouga, lit. Lightning Dust Double Leopard Fang)
Edna's Mystic Arte cut-in is Godly. Her second picture too hnnnnnnnnnggggggggggggggg I want her to step all over me. 3lewd5sp?
From what I had seen of Sorey and Alisha's, they seemed very basic and hopefully there's tiers for Mystic Artes, like in Graces f. Graces f would have been awful if level 1 BCs were all you had access to.
Abyssal Chronicles has scans of the new famitsu, which reveals a lot more about Renard and Simon. Crossing my fingers that Simon is playable. As long as the game hasn't been released yet, there's a chance!
Equipment skills are also detailed there.
I was reading a bit of an interview with Producer Baba about the characters and it basically came down to him dodging on the questions as to whether Alisha or Rose was the main heroine. There's apparently another artwork to be released by ufotable that shows Rose in not as prominent a position as the game cover, though it's probably for the OVA.
