MapleStory 2, welcome.

Had this been released a year or two earlier I would have jumped on it enthusiastically without hesitation, but not now. I'll be playing Maple 1 until it's grisly end and then I'll be saying farewell to Nexon for good, irrespective of how amazing Maple 2 ends up looking.

God, I completely suck at 3d games, but I'm excited!

I am guessing it will have strictly limited service areas due to being much more dependent on low latency. That's assuming they don't make the same mistake of letting the client do things on its own.

if they do the same crap they did with DN i'll be pissed, the US is much closer to my country than freaking europe nexon. i dunno why i can't just play USDN.

All I wish is for a non-polygon looking avatar/face.

I hope MS2 has more to do with MS1 than the FAQ suggests (in terms of content and theme).

Personally, I have yet to be impressed with any 3D sequels to 2D games. I'll take artistically styled sprite art over obvious polygons / stiff models, bad collision detection, and camera glitches. To me, 3D game technology has yet to get out of the "uncanny valley" stage, so it's painfully obvious when a company tries to make a hybrid of 2D style and 3D models and fails horribly.

Generally why I don't like 3D games.

‘MapleStory 2′ takes place in a world from a previous time period. Some monsters and areas from ‘MapleStory’ might show up but ‘MapleStory 2′ is being developed to have different and interesting characteristics.

Interesting. I'm glad that work will still continue on the original Maplestory. apart from that, i'm not particularly bothered.

I mean, i would try the game if I could. but by the time it comes to NA it will be what, 2015-6 at the earliest? and then I probably wouldn't be able to play anyway because i'm from Europe, and Europe is almost certain to not get it.

Joining others here, hope the Nexon NA accounts from before EU block work for MS2, although they probably won't .

Then again I'm not even sure if I'm still in Europe in like 2015-2016...

Legitimate concerns for the game does not equate to whining.

Is saying "It could be good if it doesn't have cubes" really whining? If anything it sounds like a lot of people being hopeful about the new game, rather than bashing it straight off the bat.

No idea where you get us "whining" from. maybe Southperry has warped your judgement of what whining really is.

well now re-reading i must say I'm wrong but kinda theres already comments bashing the game even if not already out... it just.... ah nevermind...

It didn't come off as whining more than it did come off as insecurity that this new 3D game has a chance to deliver the kiss of death to the 2D game, though LoL has already delivered that apparently.

I think what you're seeing isn't whining [MENTION=6510]danielcatu[/MENTION]; some of us want to relive what maplsetory was and hopefully taking a different path. However >I< for example am aprehensive because I don't want to fall for the same trap and take years to get out of it. Cus once you make an active group of friends, it's really hard to go cold turkey.

I feel like the chances of this not having cubes or some cube like system are likely to be around the same as MS1 bringing back wedding ring effects and the original, non-gimped Amoria. For all the trouble that said system has caused, they were still continuing to publish newer and more expensive variants in the original game (last I played, anyway). It just doesn't seem like them to waste such an opportunity to make more money, especially when there are so many other games out there managing the same thing, in my opinion.

I doubt my computer could handle 3D graphics.

My 9 year old laptop could handle 3D games a lot easier than it could Maplestory. So you probably could.

If it's managed like dragonsnest I'll be impressed. Although I don't like dungeon runners, Dragonnest is pretty well managed

I love how much people say various stuff whether positive or negative when it's clear each and every one is going to play it, simply because imagination can create endless dynamics on how the game will be. Except the information at hand, we know nothing.
I just hope I like it. Like with every MS related content I get hyped and wish the fun will stick. Everyone gets disappointed every now and then. What's worse then blabbing about assumptions that you can't even make is being dedicated to those things you don't like in the original maple.

Even so, I personally don't have much hope for this.
