Who made the pomegranatestorm of whining and rage and cynicism in every single page again?
who ever exhibited any "rage" in this thread?

What do you want? a boss fight where you have to put a giant beast to sleep with a tuba, Guitar Hero style? Is that original and refreshing enough?

I miss NXProse

Quote:Ok, so while this isn't a direct update with pics, etc, I have a few minutes to talk a little. So, consider this an extended commentary on bosses.

Now, MapleStory has a wide, wide range of bosses. As a gamer myself, I always thought that several boss fights stood out:

1) 3rd Job Advancement Dark Side Fight
2) Papulatus
3) Black Crow
4) Horntail

And let me confess, I LOVE boss fights. Part of the reason why the Evil Dead map in the Phantom Forest spawns both Headless Horseman and Bigfoot is because it's there as a sort of personal challenge. No quests, or anything, just a basic challenge of "Can I do this?"

The last game I played had some rather interesting bosses, but I think the best boss fights are ones where you have to constantly adapt to only only the boss, but other factors. Mega Man 3 is my favorite out of the series, due to the challenge variety/stage layout of the bosses in Wily's Fortress. Shinobi 3, the stage prior to the last boss is one of pure platforming, where the stage itself is your enemy. Stuff like that stays with you years later.

So when seeing speculation about just what is behind the gate at the apex of Crimsonwood Mountain, I've read plenty of comments that say "Can you just give the Geist Balrog more attack/HP?" Sure, we could, but you guys deserve more. In fact, waaaay back when we first tested the Amorian Challenge, he was a lot stronger (close to a one-hit KO), but with all of his skills intact. Too hard. Even for an Onyx Apple. So we tweaked it a bit so it'd be a lot more fun, while still challenging. Because in the end, that's really what its about. Of course, since then, quite a few of you have leveled substantially, so we can show a great deal less mercy.

I have an idea; why don't we just stop arguing with each other and wait until we have some actual information about this rather than 2 simple pictures?

Opinions are perfectly fine, but you guys don't need to be constantly bringing each other down about it; everyone is entitled to one.

Personally to me, it looks like it will be a bit different than Hekaton, possibly similiar but different; there are several maps to the boss and it seems to have more body parts than Hekaton does as well. Let's just wait and see instead of constantly bickering about it to one another.

Do you really think it will?

Quit talking about yourself like that. From the very same thread, even.

On that note, I'm not going to bother arguing about how bad or good this boss is going to be because we literally know nothing other than how he looks, and that it's a very, VERY, large boss.

So...
Am I the only one who thinks it's more like a tree than a mountain?

The point of connection between his head and his shoulders looks very misplaced and odd to me, that's all I can really say....

And where he is. You forgot "where he is".

I agree.
His hand in the second image does look a bit more rock-ish tho.
Lol not like this matters at all Rolleyes

No. I was waiting for you to answer. I guess it's really hard for you to admit you were being hypocritical and whining. You pomegranate across the thread and evade any implication you did anything wrong. Its like an argument except its so much easier to see through because its simply you behaving irrationally rather than leaving your irrational behavior within a wall of text.

It's way too flat and level.
Hopefully that branch is something external and unrelated to Gollux, because if that's supposed to be his clavicle or something, the developers really have hit rock bottom and completely forgotten how to make uneven terrain.

Gollux is more on wood-rock golem from what I observed from both pictures. I hope Gollux is weak to fire due to wood property, Ice for both wood and rock properties.
But I have one feeling that the participants for slaying this boss need to kill all parts at the same time (maybe in 1min after one part is killed).

It was heavily implied especially after the change that Nexon America made to Lang's Notes in the Magatia storyline.

Hm... When was the last time we saw a new boss that had elemental weaknesses, other than the corrupt instructors that Cygnus summons?

I doubt that they're the same since The Alchemist is from the past while Krakia is from the future, though the fact that Krakia is a time traveler could mean anything.

So... in regards to similarities between Gollux and Hekaton, think this will be a unified, cross-server boss? I think that'd be pretty interesting.

They say there are 3 phases of a science breakthrough

1) They deny it as true

2) It goes against the bible

3) They knew it all along.

In maplestory it's;

1) Hyped boss

2) Undefeatable to the point where you may "accidently" be perma banned, where even the drop table doesn't exist, all until a new class comes out or variant of cube

3) It's then farmed by the elite of the elite until it's worthless

This is an entirely new boss, you can almost guarantee 2 is going to be staying a lot longer than usual Rolleyes

Yes I can determine that looking at the first two pictures, but I have to give credit where credit is due, at least it's somewhat original thus making it exciting.

Hm. Do we have the infrastructure to facilitate it?
Exciting speculation time!

I'm sure pre-revamp buccs are going to have one heck of a time fighting it.

Obviously. Because if its a big boss its clearly a reskin that nexon put no effort in.
I don't need to lose my chance on getting a new colossal boss fight because there is another colossal boss in KMS that has gone undefeated and spams death like the plague. Just because there was a giant boss before it doesnt mean its a goddamn reskin. We might as well never make bosses the size of horntail because horntail was the first to be that size.
