AW pomegranate I MEANDERED INTO THIS THREAD LIKE NORMAL AND THEN I REALIZED I DIDN'T WATCH THE EPISODES.

Well, not sure what to make of this, but Korra isn't going to be on TV any more. Nickelodeon have cancelled the remaining episodes and the last episode to air on TV will be this Friday, but beyond that Korra will only be shown online. It isn't really surprising given how pomegranatety Nickelodeon have been with handling it, but Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino posted a couple of things on Tumblr/Twitter about the show and what's going to happen in the future:
(spoilers aren't show spoilers, I just don't want this post to be huge)

I don't know what this means for Book 4, desperately hoping that it'll still happen (I think production is already underway?) but it still sucks. =/ Here's the article where the information came from: http://www.nickandmore.com/2014/07/23/ni...premieres/ --- https://www.facebook.com/MichaelDanteDiM...7482740240

I hope Avatar doesn't just end after LoK, the next would've been an earth bender. ):

When I saw that someone posted in this thread and it wasn't a Friday, this is exactly what I was thinking would be the topic of discussion =[

Sad news. I am curious what will be told tomorrow. But I think we all know why this happened: below average viewership numbers, the leak of several episodes which caused the network to release Book 3 earlier than scheduled, and because of that there was no advertising/marketing about it besides the official trailer on YouTube.
Book 4 was ordered by Nickelodeon. I'm wondering if they'll go digital with that or on air by Nickelodeon. Book 3 is good though. Compared to Book 1 and 2, it reminds me of the adventures of Aang and his crew in TLA. It has similarities.

I lol'd.

Can't say I didn't expect this to happen eventually. :/ I am glad the show creators can still finish book 4 and post remaining episodes online.
Still looking foward to the second half of book 3.

Disappointing considering book 3 was already shaping up to be potentially better than book 1 was which was the entire reason we have these new seasons to watch in the first place.
I don't have cable so i couldn't have contributed to watching it live, anyway.

The bad part is, instead of 2 Korra episodes, there's 1 Korra episode and SpongeBob right after. And it's one of the really bad SpongeBob episodes to boot.

I was thinking, since nick isn't going to continue with the avatar franchise why not sell it to cartoon network(minus TLA since it seems its the only one they like)? Didn't cartoon network help bring back family guy and other stuff?

So.. we are getting 1 episode per week starting August 1? A lot of rumors and false information going on so it's hard to find the new episodes info.

So, this Lavabending guy. I was unsure of whether he was a Firebender or an Earthbender, but I suppose it makes sense for him to be an Earthbender given that A: The others have Water, Fire and Air bending. and B: He wears green (duh).
How the heck does Lavabending work though? what's the cutoff point of the earthbending turning into firebending? It does raise the potential for some pretty awesome stuff though, like Steambending, Mudbending ect. That's something i've always liked about Avatar, the fact there is 4 basic elements, but a lot of room for individuality and innovation between them. (like the Sandbending, Plantbending, Bloodbending and Lightningbending of the original series) |
