I used to drink a lot and liked everything but rum. That pomegranate made me sick.
Nowadays I don't drink that much/at all... I don't like beer that much, but it's nice to have one when chilling with friends because it doesn't make me feel like crap.
I'm not a fan of liquor anymore; drinking, even if just a bit, makes me sleepy and gives me awful hangovers next day.
Mixed drinks I enjoy but hangover...

Pretty much this. Why drink beer when I get more satisfaction out of green tea or orange juice? Rolleyes

You will never get as happy on green tea as I do on twelve beers.

When I was a naive youngling, full of hope for my future, I never understood why people wanted to get drunk to have a good time. Before I turned 21, you could fit all the alcohol I'd tried into two beer bottled. Hell, after I turned 21, I never really got drunk. Sure, I went to some parties, did a bar crawl or two with the other EEs... but it wasn't until I got my first job that I truly understood how alcohol is the cause of and solution to all of man's problems.

That said, a lot of the booze out there tastes like absolute pomegranate. But mad needs his fix. (Full disclaimer: chuggin' on bottom shelf bourbon and coke right now.)

Even tho I can agree with you for the most of the part, there are people who just doesn't even know how to drink.
And worst of all some even said, #well I never liked the taste but I get used to it#... well you're no better than the stockholm syndrome.

What some people doesn't understand is that there's some art behind drinking beer.
For example:
Pilsner are meant to be drinked with seafood.
Pale Ale with cheese and beef.
And so on...
Now excuse me while I drown my problems with some beer.

It took me 3 read-throughs, but I think I understand. Like, that Lemon Hart rum I previously mentioned - I immediately felt bad when I tasted it in my rum and coke. I realized that I'd made a waste of this superior rum by mixing it with carbonated swill. It was so good and I wish I'd tried a shot or two straight in a proper glass. Judging by your pomegranate-tier sentence structure, I like to think you're drunker than me right now. Please elaborate if I misconstrued the situation while I take another shot from a paper bathroom water cup.

Mixes well with low-tier rums and some whiskeys. Cherry Coke Zero equally acceptable.

I once tried IBC Black Cherry soda with rum. Was a bit too sweet. Your comments on ginger Pepsi (which doesn't exist in my region) reminds me that whiskey and ginger ale is excellent winter drink for skiing or being sick.

Edit: Now that I think about it, diet coke lime would probably be good with rum as well.
