That would indicate towards the same set up as last year but who knows.

We've been chit chatting about this in IRC a bit, and my current prediction based on the way it's described in EMS and knowing how Nexon tweaks things to fit their purposes, is as follows:

Happyville is under attack by this mysterious person. Someone catches sight of a Green creature in purple clothing, and Maple Claws assumes it is O-Pongo, attempting to get revenge on them for Maplemas beating out Versalmas last year. Maple Claws asks you to go spy on O-Pongo and see what he's up to.

One skip to NLC later, and you find O-Pongo shocked and appalled at this accusation. O-Pongo has an idea who might be behind it, and asks you to clear his name. Return to Happyville to find the fairy, and get headed into the PQ. At the end, you run into the true Culprit, Cross, who was framing O-Pongo in his attempt to ruin both holidays. After defeating him, you inform Maple claws, who feels guilty and sends you back to O-Pongo with a gift of good will. O-Pongo, being a benevolent guy, naturally accepts, and the two are teamed up to spread seasonal cheer to everyone.

Seems very Nexon-ian, wouldn't you agree? I also jokingly proposed that O-Pongo got lost in the forest for the last 9 months and came back crazy from starvation :p

We looked at the differences and similarities between Cross and O-Pongo...

As you can see, Cross has much smaller ears, a naturally crazy expression, a bigger staff, and a differently shaped face. He seems to be a dog. This fits with the already present nature of their relationships (O-Pongo being a mouse, Maple Claws being a cat) so if Cross is a dog then that puts him in a dominant spot. He's also lacking the sun badge O-Pongo has, though we can't really say if that's significant.

Also, NEXON, you better NOT take off that laggy last year's Christmas event of the big snowman that you had to kill with normal attacks with mittens.. you better not do it. I really liked it and I expected it to come again this year.

So many things with this...
1. TMS patch is on the 17th, EMS is delayed until the 16th, so all our patches will be at the same time.
2. Amoria PQ was released in GMS first...
3. Snowman is involved in this PQ somehow.

It would, however, prevent hurricane/TT from being spammed (which was the only reason I suggested it). Even if others are limited to mob attacks as well, they will at least be on an even playing field with DPM classes.

like it or not, i actually agree w/ felix about geist balrog. his teleport is just stupid (should actually teleport him), he unaggro's himself with said teleport, as well as his cancel w./m.atk (thereby defeating the lure tactic), and is overall just a waste of time. the thorns on the map are just an irritation (knocked off while chasing it) and a cheap way out of avoiding damage (stand on it and take the 1's...)

forgot about captains and homing. however... if there's a mob of 20+ around it the whole time, how's the homing egg gonna hit the boss?

and if people are gonna have to rely on mob attacks to focus on a single target, it's just a recipe for a big, unkilled monster. how long would it take to kill with AR/E, which only does 160% per 0.83s (inferno, bomb, and IA less than that, even...)? or slash blast, with a paltry 130% + combo/charge (god forbid counting in FA...)? how long with ice strike or lightning? Fury and ACB is like the SOLE SKILL that is beneficial there cause of it's insane power. band of theives is just a disaster waiting to happen, likewise with avenger. the only class that would do well in such a scenario is warriors, and warriors already have their own bosses. heck, warriors kill BF/pianus faster and earlier than the DPM classes can.

oh, and i'm pretty sure heros are top tier for DPM. corsairs are now the very top (on single targets), though.

a better idea overall is just to give the boss itself 5/6 parts, all of which can be hit by mob attacks. better yet, make it fire weak.

Or how about we all enter the festive spirit and party each other, have some fun and kill it. Instead of trying to KS the crap out of each other. Oh wait that’s not likely to happen.. I am sure the extraction said the drops are free for all. So some noob is just going to come along and take it all anyway.

i meant that it takes me like 20mins still to kill the left one, and a 110 wk can probably match that speed. i've got 30 levels and 4th job on it, too...

WK dpm on weak to X element monsters is very very high iirc though. :O Shouldn't be enough to beat a 14x BM though, or maybe you just suck. x3

About the Snowman, I know, but don't care about it being involved in the PQ. I'd rather want it to be involved in that quest where you had to fill the Snow Blower with Nevermelting Snow. It was fun because when you filled it, it spawned, and it started to snow and snowball throwing stars dropped on the ground. You had to use them to kill it. Yeah, it was laggy and a bit long sometimes, but it was fun. Well, I guess we won't be getting that this year. But let's see it from a good point of view: there will be many other events to enjoy with.

I downed it in 70 minutes last time I tried (lv.113) I was only using Warrior Elixirs.

You're way overestimating WK damage. They're about as strong as Crusaders, except only on elemental bosses.


Oh and I can't kill BF yet at 123 because he 1hkos me within minutes of starting the fight. It's not really possible for me to keep him back with all his messed up hit box issues.

more like wk's hit 1's on booms, and i have to completely stop attacking until i can safely get rid of them cause any attack i use sets them off lol.

although, to be honest, i haven't been there for like 7 levels already. maybe i'm down to 15 mins o.0

That tactic is kinda suicidal, Rush has this tendency to move the character right up to the face of the monster, it always runs back towards me and if I'm standing close enough to hit him, I get hit in return by touch damage (It works ok for training because I'm generally using Rush on mobs I haven't attacked yet, or that are stunned). I tried rush at first but it always ended in death.

Brandish has about... 1.5 the range of ACB? I'm not certain. It's noticeably better.


I haven't done Pianus in a while, but I always killed off the Blood Booms with Powerguard to stop them from attacking when I got dispelled (dispel = no charge = powerstrike does 5-10k on bombs). Shouldn't your Strafe be able to manage 10k consistently by 14x though? :/ Even if only 1 arrow hit a crit it would be enough.


@ 11x my DPM would have been around 900-950k on Pianus if I could attack consistently (he uses def up a pomegranateton so probably less than half that in reality). Not sure what it is now.
edit: looks to be about 1.5mil per minute. Pretty decent boost I guess.
