I remember when it was a big pineappleing deal when someone first offered 1bil for an item. On Scania.
And when 60% glove attack scrolls would cost you a hefty 1mil.

But, yes. I do think the people with 2.147 should be cut down to the same level as people with 100m. Back in the day, the meso cap wasn't a problem, because nobody had that much money. Now you can't even buy decent items if you have the most mesos a character can have.
So.....its my fault that I make mesos and you don't? No thanks bro, pineapple that pomegranate. QQ more please

Yea, that is totally what it is all about! Oh wait, some of us are not children and have some idea about the workings of an economy and recognize the need to do something about this for the health of the very game. It is simply a bloody inconvinence having to juggle around several different currencies just to sell a damn unique helmet.
Not to mention the stupidity in not getting that a universal 90% cut would leave everyone at the exact same position in terms of wealth in a comparative perspective.
I have more than enough mesos to go around, but I would welcome a purge simply because it would make the game more interesting, for old and new players alike.

If everyone lost the same percentage of mesos, you'd still have the same amount in relation to everyone else.

Out of curiosity I visited a few of the websites that get super megaphoned in-game that sell meso to see how much they actually have. A few of the websites had over 50bil in stock for sale, one of them apparently had over 120bil. Amounts like that shouldn't exist, ever. There is absolutely no reason for that amount of currency to exist.

So I'm a child because I have a good amount of meso and I don't want it to get cut by 90%? Sorry, but the economy is already fucked and its not gettin fixed. This thread is really fairly pointless, if you don't like it, then quit MS

Do you realize how stupid you people sound saying pineapple and pomegranate all the time?
And you don't realize that you probably wouldn't be affected very much if you can make meso as well as you say. Things would cost less and you could keep on doing what you're doing.

It's not like a 90% meso cut also equals a universal 90% price cut in the free market. Those with less mesos would be affected to a much lesser degree, and thereby gain more purchasing power, while those in the higher bracket would essentially become "average joes".
Either way, I don't think this solution can achieve much. The reality is that the effects of a cut would quickly dissipate once duping and hacking resume, and everything would return to what it is today. IMO, the only plausible solutions come from addressing the crippling hacks that caused this mass inflation in the first place.

Thank God for this guy. Finally another voice of reason instead of a snooty little peach like CarrionCrow. Also, the whole point of this thread was him saying "Wipe is not an option" 90% of mesos is a wipe, just sayin

You're right about it not being a universal price change in FM, but that's not a reason why. People aren't affected to a lesser degree, they all lose the same percentage of their mesos. Any interpretation of what makes someone "higher bracket" or "average joe" would change accordingly.
In addition to what people are willing to pay for things affecting prices, there are built in price floors (or ceilings) for things that you can buy from NPCs. If they wiped out 90% of everyone's mesos, those things would cost 10x more in relative terms - things like profession ingredients, mounts, and so forth. These, and the things made from them, are the things that wouldn't change in the same proportion as the rest of fm from a meso wipe.
I would actually agree with increasing the relative cost of these things. I remember when pot costs were a significant factor in figuring out worthwhile training. Now it's a joke. Money shouldn't just be for vanity and broken but unnecessary gear, it should be meaningful to the entire population, and it should be possible to make it in significant enough quantities to make playing the game financially desirable. A large % meso wipe would make the mesos you get from training relatively more valuable, and the things you could make with professions relatively more valuable. Those are good things.
Of course while there are still huge numbers of hackers and botters they'll still make the overwhelming majority of the new mesos, so this sort of thing really only makes sense to clean up the mess after the exploits are patched.

I strongly disagree with non linear proportions of mesos being removed. Such economic policies have no place in online games, and it should entirely be a case of you get what you put in, and if you are poor, too bad!
I want to see it as preferably a one off mesos removal. If it is done in a regular basis, I see problems in it...
- People will hoard items that can be NPC'ed until after the "scheduled" mesos removal, thus weakening it
- The values of items buyable from NPC's will be continually fluctuating
- Auction sites such as basil will have a nightmare of a time dealing with it
Mesos removal isn't a permanent solution, it's just a way to get things back to a reasonable way that other ways of dealing with the problem can then be implemented on (such as more sinks and less botting for mesos)

I would agree with you there. After the issues are resolved, it may indeed be good to look at some sort of one-time cut (be it a universal % or based on some sort of tiered system).

No that was not what the OP said:
"So let entertain the idea that nexon was happy to do what ever they needed to do to fix the economy. what would be the best course of action (you cant wipe all items and start again.)"
How the hell can you miss the point in two sentences?
It is not about doing what is best for the rich, or even the poor, it is about what is best for the game. You clearly like your pile of pixel gold, and sure it is always fun to hoard, but unless you are a duper you will eventually end up in a GMS where your mesos wont take you anywhere at all. Dollars or NX will be the only currency worth a rotten fig, and that will eliminate any chance of getting new players, or keeping casuals and most hardcores. Congratulations, ignorance and stupidity shut a fun game down.
Also, calling someone a peach is a poor comeback when being called immature, it just lend more support to the conclusion.

NPC sells skill books. 10s for 100m, 20s for 25m, and 30s for 50m. 10s stay the same, 20s are 50%, and 30s are 30%.
Remove MTS and implement cashshop trading system to make nx->meso conversion easier.

How can you be such a self-righteous piece of pomegranate? Dont you understand? The game is ruined, and there's nothing you can do for it. There's nothing you ever could do for it. As the above poster said, just because the amount of meso went down, doesn't mean prices will go down. Now that you have no purpose outside of frequenting this site like the virgin you are, why don't you grab a gun, stick it in your mouth, and paint the walls?

Nexon should first off sue the meso selling sites for making money off of THEIR game.
