The pros and cons of all classes.

KhainiWest Wrote:I still wouldn't consider "not having flashjump" a con, I would imagine pro and con's would be related to their training ability and aran's have rush, the only other thing I could imagine is bad at rope climbing? A lot of the current training places are pretty linear, disregarding LHC, although it's not that bad in comparison.

I see your point don't get me wrong, traveling sucks for majority of classes in comparison to the new things legends get, but in terms of training efficiency I don't believe aran's fall that far behind.

The rush pseudo nerf really hit Arans badly though... that thing where about 20% of mobs aren't pushed no matter how you time it. Arans can only rush after a full combo attack, whereas other warriors' rush can be cast any time you need it, as can the new classes.

It's not a huge problem but it does mean they're only about as fast as warriors in general, combat step doesn't work in combat and rush is slower.

???? arans rush works fine, and its direction+direction+atk how hard is that. aran can spam rush faster than warriors rush (i have aran/drk/hero i know what im talking about)

A con for all 3 Explorer warriors would be that their useful party buffs are pretty much replaced by more reliable and more accessible means... DrKs are replaced by pants, Heroes replaced by potions, and now Paladins replaced by a shoe.

From there... warriors only have Crash to bargain with if they want to get into boss runs ;p.

The plus-side to DrKs though is that they still attract the ladies~ the mage, pirate, and archer ones at least.

It does indeed have that problem. Final charge seems to have a failure %, besides, Arans can't spam charge or toss until they put a point into sudden strike

ZeroGravity Wrote:Cons: - Low HP. Applies to all archers (someone correct me on this).

Yes archers start out with a low base hp and rather low survivability, but this can be pretty easily remedied with decent hb and drain arrow (which should also be listed as a huge pro for bowmasters).

Pros
Really good avoid/suvivability from illusion step in 4th job and good damage from afa and spirit link (which is also really good for hp). Furthermore, elite puppet is very good for holding aggro away from you and for absorbing damage.

Cons
Bms have bad 4th job mobbing. There are better skills to max than Ult. Inferno so bms get outmobbed in many situations. This can also be fixed by getting wind pierce, but that is a pain.

Another one is that our arrows are bulky and cannot be potentialed, when compared to the ones mercedes get. Just another negative in comparison.

The arans have problems with rush it is for one of these 1) you hit them with body pressure 2) mob is attacking and the classic number 3)summon or someone is hittin it, but that they can do it faster than warrior rush?, yup more faster if they avoid those 3 (experience and some lurking on the forums).

No.

At most WP would be useful in element strong mobs, but I'm sure you'll be using hurricane on those.

This is correct. Aran rush works fine. Often, BP hits right before you rush and therefore you miss because the rush hit during its knockback animation. You just have to get used to pausing a second right after your BP hits and you'll be ok.

On topic: Pretty much all the new classes have no cons and can do everything ;P but I'll still go head and list the practical ones of the classes I play.

Aran Pros:
-Obviously great mobbers. Can hit many monsters at once with good damage
-Great range of attack (Final Blow hits half the screen)
-Has a drain skill that works nicely at pot-cooldown bosses like VL/Empress
-After maxing barrier/high defense, survivability is passable despite lower HP for a warrior.
-Good at multiple body part bosses or mass summon bosses.

Aran Cons:
-Can't take advantage of ice element often (only BGB, one zak arm, and a couple pb statues come to mind).
-Easy to cap Final Blow/Judgement
-Slower attack (therefore, limited potential).
-PVP skill lag affects Arans more because they need to go through the entire swing to get full effectiveness
-NO CRASH
-Decent skills can get dispelled (unlike most other classes).

Hero Pros:
-Really good single target damage
-Decent mobbing
-Good survivability
-Amazing with Combat Orders
-Has crash

Hero Cons:
-Dispel kills them (No orbs, no pg)
-Can't mob control at bosses, therefore, sometimes dark wyverns cause ^

Please stop considering any decent skills when deciding upon a Con or a Pro. Thats the same as saying a weak class has excellent damage because you can improve it with a lot of potential. These aspects should be considered while totally forgetting about NX.

Why? It's a legitimate comparison because if one class can be strong due to potential, another class can be too. We aren't comparing these characters in a vacuum, we are comparing their real applications. A DS having the ability to get bossing % on both of its weapons constitutes as an advantage while bossing. If you are replying to one of my cons, then similarly, an Aran is more easily killed because his HB is dispellable while others are not.

NX is a large part of the game, it's not realistic to leave it out.

While on one side this is true and should be seen from purely ''the class itself'' point of view. It doesnt mean that everything around the class should be ignored.
Not sure what to do here though but. Saying that we should forget about NX all together here wouldnt be good. It would be the same as saying there are three
doctors and each of them is better then the other. But because of medical equipments the one thats not as good as the other could still be better in the end.
Leading to the fact a person could choose for the wrong person just because of the person and not looking at the equipment he/she has.

A vague comparison but if people want to make a class who is strong and whatever other reasons, we should mention that its not that hard atm to get decent skills.

Pssh. I don't see how arrow rain is so strong against 6 targets, but then loses all around dps against 7+ mobs and then regains it again for 8-10. Might just be me, but I find arrow rain more useless in a lot of situations and that I hit more with inferno. My inferno damage is over 300k buffed plus the dot, whereas my arrow rain barely hits 300ks. I understand it can hit more mobs than inferno, but still. Also, I guess that I would use WP on element strong mobs, but unless the mob is less than 5 monsters, I wouldn't use hurricane on them (assuming that White's rule for using hurricane on <4 mobs and inferno on >4 mobs still applies in that situation).

I guess I'm talking about 3rd job Tongue where you have much less choice of when to use rush.

With the new classes all having 1st/2nd job rush skills, it is a mobility disadvantage.

gonna hit this post-union patch:

Dark Knights

Pros:
-Decent mobility due +20 speed at 4th job maxed berzerk plus the FJ-like skill in second job
-Good amount of HP
-Great regenerating properties, even more so while mobbing, due to dragon judgement, beholder healing, and beholder revenge.
-Decent defensive skills.
-Hyper body is a great party skill when playing with classes of lower HP like pirates and archers
-Even larger than before range, with impale being the longest range main attack available to any warrior (comparable to long-range classes)
-Good mobbing. (Best out of all 3 main adventurer classes.
-Sacrifice's ignore-PDR ability make it extremely efficient for boss solo's and such
-Magic crash, when properly timed, can speed up runs a lot.
-Highest critical hit rate of warriors, which is applied on all their skills
-Highest minimum critical damage (reaching maximum critical damage) of all classes, making SE/Decent SE extremely useful for this class
-Very stable damage, thanks to beholder.
-Dispel doesn't hit them as hard, due to only having 4 really required buffs: stance, beholder, booster and dragon strength (MW and hyperbody optional)
Dragon Roar is the ultimate with the lowest cooldown of the game (Bar DemonSlayer skills)

Cons:
-It's a warrior, mobility compared to every other non-warrior class is sub-par, and even then some warriors have better mobility (DS)
-Very weak until 3th job.
-Hyper body can be dispelled, which is terrible for your party in a boss scenario, Decent HB can't be dispelled for adventurers making it more reliable.
-Damage wise, doesn't really excel compared to the other warriors
-Magic crash was horribly nerfed
-Loss of achilles made their survivability the worst of all the warrior classes, seduce, 1/1 skills, or both at the same time can easily kill you
-Revenge's heal ability can easily be stopped by "Super Def Up"

i don't think i forgot anything, dunno you guys can tell me. this is post-union.

Huh?
Joe is using U. Inferno for mobs 2 to 6 if I'm not wrong and just changes it for WP on the other table, just look at it:
